What has been going on with Free Republic? A number of postings did not show up. Now talkradio show threads. The timing is very bad. Need info please. Thank-you.

Is there something wrong with the boards? Some articles on News/Activism don't have viewable comments and it appears that new articles are not appearing. I posted a comment on one thread as a test and that does not show up in the thread or in my pings.

I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I could not find anyplace on the site that gives a primer on certain vocabulary and abbreviations used. Specifically, I have no idea what "btt" means. I've picked up other franguage such as "hugh" and "series" but "btt" escapes me. Thanks for the heads up.

There are some Obama photos and quotes I need to get to over the next month. As of right now I can't get to them. Is the DB restoration going to happen pretty soon?

With the increased volume we have seen with the war starting, we have been missing mail and other moderator duties, such as zots. So, here's some guidelines for vanities. We should be back up within two or three hours. We are installing the third of our three new servers and this one will require some downtime. The other two were installed as web servers and this one will be a database server. We now have seven web servers installed and this newest addition makes it three database servers, plus we have a secure server and an admin server. Given that individual threads keep disappearing, I'm guessing this is a SQL injection hack of some kind, or someone has hacked the server itself. Good luck FR!!! I'm guessing the backup group is still active on Yahoo...

When I try to search an artice by title that I posted previously to see how many views it got, I don't get a find. And just now I tested to search an article recently posted titled: Pennsylvania, Michigan crucial to fall election ... I did not get a find and when I use "match any word" in the title, articles are listed but not the one I searched.

Can someone help?

what is the deal with all the duplicate threads lately? it seems like there are several of the same threads posted over and over sometimes there are threads that were posted from the day or days before often there are muliptle threads of the same topic on the first page. I have been guilty of this as well even though I have searched for the keyword
