JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 3, 2005) -- Emmitt Smith, the NFL's career rushing leader, is retiring after 15 years, according to two sources within the NFL. Smith, who starred for the Dallas Cowboys for 13 seasons and spent the last two years with Arizona, will make the announcement at 4 p.m. in Jacksonville. He is expected to sign a one-day contract with Dallas so he can retire as a Cowboy. Dallas owner Jerry Jones will be present at the ceremony.
