A little advice, please, guys. I'm in the jungle in a third world country. I have fair to medium speed internet service (streaming video goes to buffer mode about 20% of the time) and no satellite TV. So what site(s), besides FR, do you recommend I use to monitor the rout??? I figure +80 and +9 is a fair rout. It'll already be Wednesday morning here when the polls close, so if you want to know ahead of time how things worked out, let me know. Thanks. OiB

WASHINGTON – An ebullient Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele asserted Wednesday that GOP victories in governors' races in New Jersey and Virginia demonstrate "a transcendent party" on the move again. The White House said the elections were not a repudiation of President Barack Obama. "We're not crowing, we're just smiling," Steele said in a nationally broadcast interview. "I think it's a bellwether for the party ... You look at where we were nine months ago." Steele said he believes Chris Christie's victory in New Jersey and Robert McDonnell's win in Virginia show that the GOP has "really found its voice...

Dear Governor: November 9, 2005 06:19 AM EST There is no such thing as a fusion candidate, no such thing as a bipartisan campaign or a non-partisan issue, and come election night, there are just two parties, one at the GOP HQ and one at the Dem HQ. There's a winners' party and a losers' party. Last night you were speaking to the losers' party. I didn't go. Why bother? The polls had shown for a few days that only Prop 75 had a chance (the measure to stop public employee unions from deducting political dues from their members' paychecks...

The conventional wisdom of the political punditry has been proven wrong again. A huge national voter turnout was thought to favor the Democrat candidate, but Pres. Bush's national popular vote count from the Nov. 2, 2004 general election has now exceeded 62 million votes. As of 12/10/04, Pres. Bush has received 62,019,003 votes. The states of NY and PA have certified their official results in the past two days which pushed Pres. Bush's vote count over the 62 million mark. CA will certify its results tomorrow, but almost all CA votes are already included in the Bush total (by obtaining...

Pres. Bush has now garnered a truly astounding 60,724,666 votes in the 2004 election, and there are still hundreds of thousands of votes remaining to be counted. Not only has Pres. Bush exceeded his 2000 total by more than 10 million votes, he has also broken Pres. Reagan's 1984 vote record by more than 6 million votes!! The AP election results which are linked to this post are way behind because they do not include an add'l 517,000 votes that Pres. Bush has received in CA plus hundreds of thousands of add'l votes that Pres. Bush has received in AZ,...
