City official: More Congolese migrants headed to San Antonio [link to KENS5, San Antonio]. -- The city said they sent the Congolese migrants to 16 different cities across the country including 35 families sent to Portland, Maine, 13 families to New York City. ... The city told KENS 5 they did not know how many more central African migrants would be coming into town but said they would be arriving in the coming days and weeks.

The sister of the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States says he told relatives he notified officials the first time he went to the hospital that he was visiting from Liberia. Mai Wureh says her brother, Thomas Eric Duncan, went to a Dallas emergency room on Friday and they sent him home with antibiotics. She says he said hospital officials asked for his Social Security number and he said that he didn't have one because he was visiting from Liberia.

Dallas health officials are bracing for a possible second case of the deadly Ebola virus connected to the infected man now in isolation. Dallas County Health and Human Services Director Zachary Thompson said there is one particular contact of the patient who he fears may have Ebola. House Republicans may force the House to stay in session until they get enough votes to pass the border package. “We’ll stay until we vote,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) told reporters staking out a special GOP conference meeting. A house GOP leadership aide said the decision hadn’t been made yet. Another House Republican told NRO, 45 min into the meeting, that there was “no sign anyone has changed so far.”

The White House torched House Republicans’ plan to vote to block President Barack Obama from granting deportation relief to any new people in the country illegally. Republicans say that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program has acted as a magnet for the surge in unaccompanied children across the border, even though recent immigrants are not eligible. And Republicans are demanding that Obama not expand that relief amid reports he’s considering granting “administrative amnesty” and work permits to as many as 5 million more unauthorized immigrants.
