One day after the U.S. Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade, which gave constitutional abortion rights to women for more than 50 years, a Texas senator is now going viral online for comparing it to another landmark ruling that was overruled related to racial segregation. Sen. John Cornyn responded to a tweet by former president Barack Obama that denounced the Roe v. Wade decision. Cornyn's tweet said "Now do Plessy vs Ferguson/Brown vs Board of Education."

The pro-choice activist group leading protests outside the home of Supreme Court justices vowed not to stop its “civil disobedience” despite laws prohibiting the gathering outside of the justices’ homes. A spokesperson from the organization Ruth Sent Us said American law is “designed to protect corrupt officials and their property.”

Former President Trump again tossed around the idea that he will run for the presidency in 2024 Thursday, as he said he'd rather be a 'dictator' than a 'dumb person and bragged about 'acing' the aptitude test. 'First they said not too smart,' Trump said, talking about how Democrats and the media described him. 'But then, they made me a dictator instead. Which would you rather be, a dumb person or a dictator? Perhaps a dictator would be better. I don't want to be a dumb person.' He bemoaned that no one calls for invoking the 25th Amendment against President...

The Trumpian midterm reelection plan Republican Sen. Rick Scott had hoped would electrify colleagues has instead reenergized Democrats in both chambers, sparking nationwide campaign ads, fundraising appeals, and fresh lines of attack against GOP lawmakers on the ballot this fall. The 11-point strategy, which Scott developed on his own and unveiled February 22, takes conservative-fueled culture wars and MAGA priorities to another level — prompting fellow Republicans to characterize it as "polarizing" and "silly." In addition to imposing new taxes on low- and middle-income earners currently exempt from federal collections, Scott declares war on national mask mandates, local school boards,...

The right-wing firebrand laughed off comments made during an interview with One American Network (OAN) complaining House Speaker Pelosi was secretly investigating members of Congress and constituents. “Not only do we have the D.C. jail, which is the D.C. gulag,” said Rep. Greene in a now-viral video. “Now we have Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police spying on members of Congress, spying on the legislative work that we do, spying on our staff and spying on American citizens that want to come to talk with their representatives.” After being roundly mocked for confusing the Gestapo, the official secret police of Nazi Germany...

The father who went viral on Christmas Eve for getting Joe Biden to say 'Let's go Brandon' said he used the public call with the president to 'voice my disapproval' of the administration. Jared Schmeck, 35, did an interview with former Trump aide Steve Bannon on Monday to explain the exchange and his intentions behind using the phrase that has become synonymous with 'F**k Joe Biden.' 'For me, 'Let's Go Brandon – and I've said it in other articles – I am a Christian man,' Schmeck said during Bannon's War Room podcast on Monday. 'For me, it's God first and...

Right-wing podcast host Candace Owens says former president Donald Trump’s recent vocal support for Covid-19 vaccines can be explained by his generation’s experience with inoculations and his lack of familiarity with the internet. During an appearance on Owens’ podcast and YouTube show on Wednesday, Mr Trump defended the effectiveness of the jabs in preventing hospitalisation and death. After Owens — who has called the lifesaving vaccines “pure evil” and claimed that one would “never” be injected into her — said people were “questioning” the shots’ effectiveness, Mr Trump interrupted her to defend the jabs developed with funding from his administration...

The Trump Grill, located inside Trump Tower in New York City, refused to allow a group of vaccine mandate protesters to eat at the restaurant on Thursday after they failed to provide proof of vaccination. In response, the group slammed former President Donald Trump as a "fraud" and "a little hypocritical" for enforcing the city's indoor dining vaccine mandate, rather than paying the fines associated with defying the requirement, Newsweek reports. While Trump has come around on promoting the COVID-19 vaccines, he's maintained that "there can't be mandates and all those things." As he further put it to Fox News...

Former President Donald Trump believes Republicans will sit out the 2022 midterms and the 2024 presidential election, of which he may be a contender, if the fraud he believes occurred during the 2020 election isn't "solved." Trump has been pushing that he rightfully won the 2020 presidential election since the race was called for Biden and has been critical of legislators and judges who don't back the belief as well. He has yet to prove widespread fraud occurred that would have changed the outcome of the election and on Wednesday, he railed against a Georgia judge who dismissed a fraud...

The statistics for the entirety of Donald Trump’s time in office are nearly all compiled. As we did for his predecessor four years ago, we present a final look at the numbers.

Anyone whom the MAGA base suspects of being a RINO is a dead armadillo now. The best advice I could offer Pence and Haley is to disappear. Since they can’t go back in time, and since swimming against the tide is (at best) treading water, the best thing they could do is wait for the world to change. But they’re still here, acting like no one will remember they were caught swimming naked when the tide rolls back in. Why is it that everybody but Pence and Haley can see this? As Richard Feynman put it, “The first principle is...

Reality TV personality Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, said on Thursday that he felt "real good" about how his hunt was going and expected to close in on Laundrie imminently. [snip] Chapman has also contracted a private search and rescue K-9 team to aid in his search of an island called Egmont Key, which is off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida. "We got a bunch of volunteers," he told Fox News. "Most of them are former law enforcement, former Navy SEALs and Marines." He added: "So, we're on the hunt, I feel real good about it." [snip]...

Minnesota's top court overturned a murder conviction Wednesday for former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor, who was found guilty of murder and manslaughter in the killing of Justine Ruszczyk in 2017. The ruling could have consequences for Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in April of killing George Floyd. Noor was first charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in 2018, months after Ruszczyk's death. Ruszczyk, an Australian-American woman living in Minneapolis in 2017, had called 911 to report a possible sexual assault near her home. Noor, who later testified that he was startled by a sound while...

The State of Texas filed a lawsuit directly with the U.S. Supreme Court shortly before midnight on Monday challenging the election procedures in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin on the grounds that they violate the Constitution. Texas argues that these states violated the Electors Clause of the Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions, but not through the state legislatures. Additionally, Texas argues that there were differences in voting rules and procedures in different counties within the states, violating the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. Finally, Texas argues that there were...

President Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump is considering a run for Senate in 2022 in her native North Carolina for a seat that will open with the retirement of Republican Sen. Richard Burr. The contest could attract several Republicans because they do not have to challenge an incumbent and because the expectation is that the general election would be easier to win with President-elect Joe Biden in the White House. But if the president continues to carry weight with GOP primary voters in North Carolina in his post-presidency, Lara Trump could enter the Senate race as a top candidate.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested the man who recorded cellphone video of Ahmaud Arbery being shot and killed. William “Roddie” Bryan, 50, shot the video that showed what appears to be Gregory and Travis McMichael shooting and killing Ahmaud Arbery while he was out jogging in February. In a news release, the GBI said it charged Bryan with felony murder and criminal contempt to commit false imprisonment.

Last year, Eric Trump was asked about Secret Service protection at Trump Organization properties. “If my father travels, they stay at our properties for free,” he said. “So everywhere that he goes, if he stays at one of his places, the government actually spends, meaning it saves a fortune because if they were to go to a hotel across the street, they’d be charging them $500 a night, whereas, you know we charge them, like $50.” You will be stunned to learn this is not remotely true. Instead, as the indefatigable David Fahrenthold and three colleagues at The Washington Post...
