arah Palin is under fire again, and not for her Naughty Monkey shoes. This time it’s because of a post on Facebook showing her six-year-old son Trig, a child diagnosed with Down syndrome, to reach an otherwise out-of-reach countertop, “step, baby, step[ping]” on the back of Jill Hadassa, the family’s black Labrador retriever. Besides the fact that the dog appears totally at ease with the situation and not at all perturbed about providing the elevation barefoot Trig needed to reach the kitchen counter, once again hypocrisy is revealed in feigned outrage when it comes to what’s acceptable and what’s despicable....

February 3, 2014 One Anne Arundel County, Md., police officer devastated a family on Saturday when he shot and killed their dog while investigating a burglary in the Pasadena area, reported Monday's Baltimore Sun. On Saturday afternoon, the deceased dog's guardian, Tim Reeves, was alerted to the presence of an officer in his front yard by his girlfriend. He went to the door to see what the problem was; Reeves told the Baltimore Sun: I said to him 'How can I help you, officer? He looked at me and said 'I unloaded on your dog. Your dog attacked me, and...

With so many Democrats running against the president's agenda in the midterm, change will come in the next Congress, regardless of which party is in control.

For anyone keeping score at home, here’s the tally: Fort Worth police helicopter: 0, Godiva the search dog: 1.Fort Worth police officers lost one of their own on New Years Day when Loki, a search and rescue canine, chewed through the fence of his handler’s backyard and escaped into the streets of Fort Worth. After searching for hours with a helicopter and police cruisers, Fort Worth police called in Godiva, a chocolate Labrador, from Dog Gone Detectives — a firm that specializes in finding lost pets. Within 15 minutes, Godiva had hunted down Loki about a half mile away from...

A collie that disappeared from his suburban Chicago owners more than five years ago has been located 85 miles away in the town of Rockford, Ill. Bo was reunited with the Moeller family of Arlington Heights, Ill., thanks to a microchip that allowed authorities to identify his owners, the Daily Herald newspaper in Arlington Heights reported Wednesday. I honestly hadn't thought about Bo in so long, said Melissa Moeller, 23. It seems so far-fetched that he would be found. Kelly Swanson of the Winnebago County Animal Services says a resident discovered Bo running loose and called the shelter. This is...

A BRITISH performance artist ate a corgi live on radio overnight in a protest at alleged animal cruelty by the royal family. Mark McGowan, who once ate a swan in a performance art show, said the cooked canine - the Queen's favourite breed of dog - tasted "really, really, really disgusting''. Yoko Ono, who was also a guest on the Bob and Roberta Smith radio program broadcast on London-based arts station 104.4 Resonance FM, tasted the dog but "looked a bit strange'', McGowan said. The corgi, which died at a breeding farm, was minced with apple, onion and seasoning, the...

Some members of Congress have stated that we must first secure our borders before we can even discuss immigration reform. I part company with some of these folks, because despite their tough talk, their view of immigration reform, even post-border security, still translates into a diluted version of amnesty, and the allowing of “day-workers” to transverse our border, and potentially abuse their privileges. While I disagree with the latter part of that plan, the first part is correct, or at least, it was until recently. One of the biggest obstacles to real border security and immigration reform has been our...

ANTIOCH, CA -- Officers shot and killed a pit bull Thursday night after its owner commanded it to attack officers searching a house, police said. A police dog also bit two suspects, but neither 23-year-old Daniel Jones nor 36-year-old Anthony Torres were seriously injured, said Sgt. Dimitri Barakos. Officers saw Jones leave Torres' house in the 2300 block of Tompkins Way at 3:54 p.m. A warrant had been issued for his arrest on suspicion of a parole violation. When officers tried to stop him, Jones fled in a car but crashed into a parked vehicle moments later on Clinton Court....
