Just one month before its April 20 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, BP claimed it could skim 491,721 barrels of oil a day in the event of a major oil spill. So now that it's not merely a thought exercise, how much has it skimmed each day? 900 barrels. That's less than 0.2% of its estimate.

By Robert Palmer Thank God Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal refused to be intimidated by the Coast Guard. Sixteen barges were stationary for 24 hours. Workers in hazmat suits and gas masks pumped the oil out of the Louisiana waters and into steel tanks. It was a homegrown idea that was working until the Coast Guard shut the operation down because they couldn’t confirm there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board. A Coast Guard representative told ABC News today that it shares the same goal as the governor. But the coast guard, the media, BP and Obama don’t seem...

He's used the tragedy to reduce off-shore drilling, castigate big business and push for a whole new set of rules and regulations to glom onto those that haven't worked and in the nick of time sent in the attorneys. Of course little cleaning has been done and the horrible mess grows worse. All the while, the media has...

Taped from Caminada Bay in Grand Isle, La., on Friday, President Obama warned people in his weekly address to be “prepared for the worst,” even as everyone hopes that BP’s efforts “bring better news than we’ve received before.” “Over the last few days, BP has placed a cap over the well, and it appears they’re making progress in trying to pump oil to the surface to keep it from leaking into the water,” Obama said in the address, taped from Caminada Bay in Grand Isle, La., on Friday. "But as has been the case since the beginning of this crisis,...
