Chris Muir, who produces the popular webcomic Day by Day, features a "Project Gunwalker" storyline in today's strip. Click here to read it. Titled "Good, Bad, and Ugly," the episode spoofs Sergio Leone's famous "spaghetti western" of a similar name, this time placing Attorney General Eric Holder with an executive order against the Second Amendment and a Mexican drug cartel gangster with a "walked" gun in the respective roles of "Ugly" and "Bad." This is (at least) the second foray Muir has taken into a Gunwalker territory. In late March, he compared arming cartels to freeing Al Qaeda rebels in...

I don't believe that Chris Muir allows hotlinking on Free Republic, but I thought that some here would appreciate the Male Call (WWII military comic strip) reference.

I enjoy reading the daily comic strips that are available through the Internet and this morning I made an effort to see how many would make any mention of this 9th Anniversary. While I have not read them all, it would appear that, in this area of public consciousness, we are forgetting. I can understand the lack of this is the specific children-oriented strips but to have only 2 strips (Millard Fillmore & Day By Day) making that mention seems to be a real lack.

Chris Muir has made quite an impression among webloggers in recent months with his cartoon strip, Day By Day. A witty and insightful look at what he calls "the other half of America," the strip alternates between the relationships between four office coworkers:... I got Chris to sit down and answer some questions about himself and his strip last week. He's quite an interesting fellow, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he one day becomes a rich and famous cartoonist. We can only hope so. Here's our conversation:...

Doonesbury is doomed. ... One lesson the book provided was simply that the put on is mightier than the put down. Insults are easy as any observer of the current election cycle can attest. Ragging on the opposition with grace and humor takes intelligence. When humor is lost, so is one’s advantage. This is why Garry Trudeau is sunk. A pair of Sunday comics paints such a stark contrast between political observation and humor that it shows why old comics should fade away. On this day both Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury) and Chris Muir (Day by Day) opined on current issues...

Click on the link. Besides being mind-bendingly funny, the cartoon features women who are almost as good looking as the Governor. Highly recommended.

Bruce Tinsley, creator of the conservative comic strip Mallard Fillmore, remembers feeling stunned when the fan letter showed up in February 1998. After all, his strip— featuring a right-leaning TV newsman or, more accurately, newsduck—was still in its relative infancy. Yet here was George Herbert Walker Bush declaring that he and Barbara turned to Mallard, “sage duck that he is,” first thing every morning. Even more gratifying, the former president thanked Tinsley for taking on “that horrible Doonesbury” and its creator, liberal icon Garry Trudeau, “a guy that tore me up in a vicious, personal way strip after strip.” By...
