New York State’s top prosecutor is threatening to sue President Trump if he follows through on his threat to deploy the United States military to put down domestic protests that were sparked by the police-involved killing of George Floyd. ‘The President of the United States is not a dictator, and President Trump does not and will not dominate New York state,’ Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement on Monday. ‘In fact, the president does not have the right to unilaterally deploy US military across American states.'

RALEIGH, N.C.—Venomous snakebites are on the rise in the Sunbelt this summer, with North Carolina, Georgia and Texas on track to set records. In North Carolina and Georgia, venomous snakebites have been rising for the past several years and are up more than 10% from a year ago, according to the states’ poison-control centers. In Texas, there were 415 reported snakebites in May and June, 27% more than the same period five years ago.

Officials with the Virginia Wildlife Management and Control took to Facebook to share “extremely rare photos” of a two-headed copperhead snake. The snake was spotted last week in a Woodbridge, Va. resident’s backyard, according to the department. In addition to the photos, wildlife management officials shared a video of the two-headed serpent twisting and wriggling inside a container . . .

A copperhead snake bit a man Friday inside an Arkansas Walmart store, according to KTHV. However, surveillance video later showed the man himself bringing the venomous snake into the store, a Walmart spokesperson told the station. No one else was injured, but the snake sighting caused pandemonium, according to customer Linda Moore Mathews, who snapped a photo of the reptile as it lay coiled in the middle of a produce aisle and posted it on Facebook. “Everyone was freaking out,” Mathews said. It has occurred to me recently that the Democrats have tried this "peace now" stuff before, during the Civil War. There really isn't much difference between what they said then and what they say now. I only point this out because we, as conservatives, have a beachhead to exploit in this. I was in Borders tonight when I noticed the latest Star Trek novel, entitled "Last Full Measure." I admit to being a trekkie, and I know that the themes have always been very liberal. But I do like to read the stories. This book however, I won't be buying, since one of the authors dedicated the book to Cindy Sheehan, for her tireless efforts (and I'm paraphrasing here) against the unjust administration and the unjust war that it has brought on in Iraq.
