We all, at some point, have fantasized about giving our employers a big middle finger on the way out the door, whether we leave on our own volition or are pushed out. Well, a 55-year-old Texas man allegedly built an automated bird flipper in the form of a kill switch that crashed his company’s systems and locked people out of their accounts when he was fired. Satisfying as that may have been, he now faces up to 10 years in prison, according to the Department of Justice, for setting the trip wire on his way out the door. Here’s the...

It’s 2040. You’re at your doctor’s office, going over the results of your genome analysis. An advanced AI has identified patterns in your DNA code that suggest you’re at high risk of developing a certain disease in the future. Thankfully, the same AI can be used to design a treatment. Generative biology Biology—the study of living things—has been going on since prehistoric times when our ancestors first determined through trial and error which plants were food and which were poison. Over the next tens of millennia, scientists would develop increasingly advanced new tools to help them in their quest to...

I came across this video clip posted on Facebook that was originally published on TikTok. It is a cover of Phil Collins' song, "In the Air Tonight," played by the rock band, State of Mine, with the video of them playing it live at a concert. The group, Green Frog Labs, used A.I. to replace the band members' faces with Trump, Melania, Baron, and those on Team Trump with special guest appearances by Sandy (aka AOC), Schiff, and Geraldo. The video is titled.... "Justice is Coming!"

We really do live on the verge of a new era of scientific progress. Case in point, a company called Lila Sciences was started two years ago with about $200 million in seed funding, but until very recently all of its activities have been kept under the radar. So what is Lila Sciences doing? They are training an AI in the scientific method and then prompting it to create new things using a special automated laboratory that the AI itself can operate. Lila’s mission is to achieve “scientific superintelligence” that is able to help scientists generate ideas and hypotheses and...

SCOOP: The Trump admin has repurposed the controversial Biden era CBP One cell phone app into a self deportation app called CBP Home that launches today. Their faces have become a byword for success, exasperation and drama after their photos were shared across the world. They say a picture says a thousand words, but in the early 2000s teenagers found that memes could become a new universal language. Connecting social-media users across the globe, the 'success-kid', 'disaster girl' and 'side-eyeing Chloe' became common fixtures in day-to-day life. But after the split-second image was captured, the real-lives behind iconic memes rarely leave the shadows of the internet. And now the childhood-favourites are all grown up - and while you may instantly recognise their internet personas they are...

Once in the registry editor, navigate to the following file path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet3. Now, look at the right side of the screen where different keys are listed. Search through them until you find “EnableActiveProbing”. Double-click it to open its properties.4....

Over the last twenty years, the media, an institution that had defined American politics in the twentieth century, began a decline that has wiped out its influence, its finances and its future. Ask anyone in the media what happened and they will blame the internet, social media, disinformation, echo chambers and other tired buzzwords directing the fault elsewhere. The reality is that the media killed itself.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As part of an ongoing effort to lead America into a safer and more prosperous future, President Donald Trump announced on Friday the creation of a Strategic U.S. Hawk Tuah Coin Reserve. The announcement came on the heels of Trump's previous order to create a similar reserve of Bitcoin, with sources saying Trump wanted to do the same for Hawk Tuah Coin to diversify the country's cryptocurrency portfolio. Does anyone here use Sling? We 'cut the cord' many years ago, and have used Roku since then; but I would like to have one or two channels that are only available to cable subscribers. (We don't want or need cable.) I'm just wondering if anyone here has been happy with Sling, and what one needs to make it work. I'm not interested in movies, just cable news, documentaries, history, Thanks very much.

The second lunar lander made by Intuitive Machines has touched down on the Moon, but like the private aerospace company’s first spacecraft, it may not be upright. The Athena vehicle for Intuitive Machines IM-2 mission landed yesterday just 100 miles from the lunar south pole, but there’s uncertainty around its orientation which may impact the mission’s duration. “We don’t believe we’re in the correct attitude on the surface of the Moon yet again,” Intuitive Machines CEO Steve Altemus said during the post-landing news conference.“We’re going to get a picture from the lunar reconnaissance orbital camera from above and we’ll confirm...

Spare a thought for Hunter Biden, the grifter who’s run out of grifts. In a court filing, Hunter claims he’s “millions of dollars” in debt — so broke he can’t afford to keep pursuing his lawsuit against Garrett Ziegler for putting much of the content of his infamous laptop on the Internet. Part of Hunter’s woes came from the LA fires torching his rental home, but the far bigger issue is that his income has slowed to a trickle. Wow: Now that the “big guy” is no longer in the White House, suddenly no one wants to buy Hunter’s art....
