George Frayne, best known under his alias as Commander Cody and leader of the group Commander Cody and His Planet Lost Airmen, died yesterday at age 77 following a battle with cancer. "Early this morning, as I lay my head upon his shoulder, George’s soul took to flight," his wife confirmed in a Facebook post, noting that a pair of memorial events will be planned for both the East and West coasts. "I am heartbroken and weary, and I know your hearts break, too. Thank you so much for all the love you gave and the stories you shared."

LOS ANGELES (AP) - George Wallace, an actor whose career spanned 50 years and was best known as Commando Cody in the film serial "Radar Men from the Moon," has died. He was 88. Wallace died Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles of complications following injuries when he fell during a vacation in Pisa, Italy, said his wife, actress Jane Johnston.
