The mystery DNA found on a potentially crucial glove found near Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home — as well as other genetic material in her house — do not match any records in the FBI’s database, officials said Tuesday.

The unknown male DNA profile on a glove found two miles from the home of Nancy Guthrie has been run through the FBI’s DNA database – and did not result in any hits, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Fox News chief correspondent Jonathan Hunt in an interview on Tuesday. The FBI has approved changes to the Quality Assurance Standards (QAS) for Forensic Laboratories to allow DNA evidence profiles generated by Rapid DNA analysis to be searched against the national DNA database (CODIS). On January 27, the QAS documents were posted on the website of the Scientific Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM), announcing that the new standards will have an effective date of July 1, 2025. At least 12,000 Wisconsin felons may not have their DNA in a state databank because of failures in the system, Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said Wednesday. The statement says that DNA samples for "at least" 12,000 other people fall into the same category, meaning that their DNA should be in the system but is not.
