A poll which last month has Beto O'Rourke leading Ted Cruz in the hot race for the U.S. Senate now says the race his flipped, and the Ipsos Polling Company credits President Trump's highly charged rally for Cruz in Houston on Monday with part of that rebound, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports. Mallory Newell, the polling director for Ipsos, says last month it had O'Rourke up by two, but the latest on line poll, which was conducted following the Trump rally, says Cruz has more than made up that deficit. "We are seeing a slight edge for Senator Cruz," she...

Most Americans are familiar with the names of their local radio stations but not with the cumbersome name of the company that owns most of them: Clear Channel Media Holdings Inc. Now, after 42 years, the country’s largest radio broadcaster is switching its name to something it hopes will resonate more with listeners and advertisers: iHeartMedia Inc., a nod to the company’s three-year-old digital radio service, iHeartRadio. Though most of Clear Channel’s revenue still comes from advertising on its terrestrial airwaves — iHeartRadio only accounts for 10% of total listening for the company — Clear Channel has been building the...

Originally known as merely a classification for 50kW AM signals with wide nighttime coverage, the Clear Channel name is joining much of the AM band in irrelevance. Effective immediately Clear Channel is rebranding itself as IHeartMedia as the company places additional focus towards its IHeartRadio.com streaming platform. The company itself will be known as IHeartMedia, Inc, while the broadcast holdings formerly known as Clear Channel Media + Entertainment will be simply IHeartMedia. "Clear Channel announced today that it has become iHeartMedia, reflecting the company’s success in becoming a one-of-a-kind multi-platform media company with unparalleled reach and impact. The newly named...

On Friday, Politico was set to release a puff piece on Michael Savage, the polarizing host tapped by Cumulus to replace iconic talker Sean Hannity on its affiliates. In the process of putting together that puff piece, Politico contacted Hannity for comment. After attempting to manipulate Hannity’s comments repeatedly, Hannity withdrew them. Now, they appear exclusively at Breitbart News. Hannity has moved to Premiere Radio Networks, a division of Clear Channel, shifting stations in many markets. As reported by Breitbart News last year, Hannity parted ways with Cumulus last year to move to Premiere, retaining his major markets and reportedly...

Rush Limbaugh's radio tirades will have a new home on Los Angeles airwaves next year. KFI-AM (640) is losing the conservative host's three-hour show, long a fixture on the station, to KTLK-AM (1150), which owner Clear Channel is hoping to pump up as an outlet exclusively dedicated to right-leaning chatter. The company, which also owns KFI, will use Limbaugh's audience to anchor the new lineup for KTLK, which is being dubbed "The Patriot" and will also feature national shows by Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. Clear Channel is making similar changes in San Francisco, where Limbaugh will leave its KKSF-AM...

Every political science major should be taught that a bill with the words “free market” in the title is not a bill freeing a market. This is the certainly the case with the "Free Market Royalty Act.” Crony Capitalism is the merging of government powers with private businesses for the fun and profit of the connected businessmen—and a poignant example is the bill by Rep. Mel. L. Watts (D.-N.C.), written by the Recording Industry Association of America, and set to create a performance tax on broadcast radio stations paid directly to a vassal entity of the RIAA. The entity,...

And so, as I was saying on the radio before I was abruptly interrupted. It’s not much of a secret in Denver, Colorado, or across the United States of America, or all the ships at sea as we go to press because I made national news. I got canned, tapped out, knocked out, booted, clipped, excused, asked to leave, dumped, “Bain Capitaled” (Bain Capital is the owner of Clear Channel radio for those who don’t know). Bain is now fondly known as the “Mack the Knife” corporation with a pink slip. Recently across America, Bain Capital has made more hits...

WICHITA, Kansas, August 30, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Ads for an abortion facility will soon fill Kansas airwaves, after a Clear Channel radio station has changed its policy, according to a pro-life group. "For several months Clear Channel radio refused paid ads from the new South Wind abortion clinic operating inside George Tiller's former abortion clinic in Wichita," said Kathy Ostrowski, the legislative director of Kansans for Life. “After news that South Wind was going to present them with a 68,000 signature petition, Clear Channel has caved, even though petition gatherers admitted that the 'vast majority' of signers are from outside...

Three CLEAR CHANNEL/JACKSONVILLE salespeople have filed suit against the company, alleging discrimination. ARNOLD S. Just hours after a new UKIP poster ad was spotted in Levenshulme, Manchester, a trade unionist-led campaign to have the advertisement removed has apparently led to success, in what opponents have called "a sad day for freedom of speech". Campaigners online are boasting about the impending removal of a UK Independence Party poster positioned in "deep-red Labour territory". The poster which reads, "Stop Open Door EU Immigration: Enough's Enough" has recently been posted in Levenshulme, an area of Manchester populated by around 12,000 people. Described as a 'multi-ethnic' area, Leveshulme has a significant immigrant population, with 2001 census figures showing...
