Mexicans love mayonnaise. They ordered a huge shipment and a ship sailed from Europe with a full shipment of Mayonnaise. As it was crossing the Bermuda Triangle, it mysteriously began sinking. The captain wired the shipping company in Europe, "we have run into a serious problem in the Bermuda Triangle, and ship is sinking". The captain was not good in Spanish, so he wired port authorities in Mexico, "Sinko De Mayo". Later on it was changed to Cinco de Mayo!

Two people were injured in a Sunday afternoon shooting that happened outside a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Two groups of juveniles exchanged gunfire in the area of Lake Street and 5th Avenue, according to Minneapolis Police Sgt. Bill Palmer. Authorities say the incident was gang-related. One teen was shot in the chest and taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. St. Paul doesn't want gang bangers anywhere near fun family festivals this summer. So, in a first-of-its-kind legal action in Minnesota, the city this morning filed papers in Ramsey County Court seeking to bar alleged members of the Sureno 13 gang from the city's Cinco de Mayo Fiesta May 1-2. Ten known leaders of the gang were served with court papers over the weekend, city officials said. By agreeing to allow the unconditional return of weapons inspectors, Iraq has done well to expose – sadly, not halt – the Bush administration's unstoppable agenda.
