Due to athletic department budget restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic, Cincinnati has shut down its men's soccer program. Director of Athletics John Cunningham announced the university's decision Tuesday, which is effective immediately. Cincinnati will honor soccer players' scholarships for the duration of their academic careers and allow them to be released immediately from the Bearcats' roster if they wish to transfer to another program.

Last week, Fifth Third Bank revealed that it was facing a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau enforcement action over “alleged unauthorized account openings.” And Monday, the other shoe dropped when the CFPB said it is suing Cincinnati-based Fifth Third alleging the bank’s employees opening accounts in customers’ names without their consent in order to meet sales goals and earn incentives. A megachurch in Cincinnati announced Sunday that it is paying off $46.5 million in medical debt for more than 45,000 families. Crossroads Church partnered with RIP Medical Debt, a medical debt relief nonprofit, to wipe out debts for people in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. They will receive bright yellow envelopes this week letting them know the good news.

An Ohio Democrat Councilwoman has been arrested and faces federal charges after she was accused of trying to sell votes for money. In particular, one vote may have sold for $15,000. Her name is Tamaya Dennard and she could face up to 50 years in jail and the mayor is also calling on her to refute the charges or resign from her position.

CINCINNATI – Three women were jogging through Cincinnati’s Spring Grove Cemetery on Friday when a security guard—seeing a storm approaching—offered them a ride, a cemetery rep tells WLWT.
