CINCINNATI If you have health insurance, it's easy to take access to doctors for granted.
But the reality is: Many groups of people go without health care for even the simplest medical conditions because they do not know where to turn.
A University of Cincinnati medical student is helping solve that problem.
In between classes, exams and coffee-fueled clinics, Caroline Hensley noticed a void that needed to be filled -- health care for the uninsured.

What could go wrong?
What could possibly go wrong?
This is nothing new. We ran a free community clinic ( supervised by attending physicians) when I was in Med school in the early 80s.
My BIL who was an Oncologist here in S.E. Michigan was a member of a group of doctors who ran a "hippie clinic" on weekends. Each doctor would volunteer one weekend a month and provide free medical care to poor people.
So people who don’t have a medical license are playing doctor in the streets of a rat run city. Why would that be necessary with all the supposed success of Barry’s plan?
There is a huge difference. You were not a “woke” progressive trying to prove how socialism/communism could work in America. You need to get with the program. (s/)
Lawyers get involved
Exactly!
On a side note, perhaps he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night?
It’s not what could go wrong...it’s we had these types of clinics before Obamacare came along. Once Obamacare was enacted many of these community based clinics closed up shop.
Funny how less than a decade later...we still need them.
Give the kids some credit.
At least they are actually doing something constructive to try and address a problem.
Unlike the Democrats who only want the issue to wave around at election time to try and motivate their voters.
Can someone explain to me why you can post a thread about a clinic but not post a thread about science showing how sitting at a desk all day can effect your body.
It makes no sense to me why a medical thread gets pulled. Sitting at a desk all day causes significant damage to a body. This is not made up science
Beat me to it. All you need is one lawyer to make it all come crashing down.
“What could go wrong?”
Hey...it always works on the New Amsterdam TV show.
Back in the day, one of my kid’s Pediatricians retired and opened up a free-clinic in the poor part of town for health checks and shots. Thought he would do the right thing because he could, had some folks donate their time, and a drug company donate vaccines etc.
Well after a year, he had to close it, because he could not provide treatment if parents did not bring their kids in for preventative free services. The parents didn’t care.
“because they do not know where to turn. “
B.S.
Everyone knows the emergency room of any hospital is obligated to treat any condition for free. There may be a wait, poor dears.
Who is paying for it? When they need money, who will they go running to? So it’s not free.
Intentions good? Perhaps.
But these are med students ie not yet doctors...so actual doctors will be asked/recruited/shamed into supervising, helping, etc.
The area around UC is rife with crime, thuggery, drugs etc. Freebies will be like the proverbial saucer of milk left out for a stray cat. Eventually the other strays will show up expecting their own saucer. Some of them may speak a language other than English despite not being residents of the ‘community.’
Rainbows and Unicorns
If only everyone did that we would not need any health insurance or anything. Everyone would be healthy and have flowers in our hair.
