This is nothing new. We ran a free community clinic ( supervised by attending physicians) when I was in Med school in the early 80’s.
My BIL who was an Oncologist here in S.E. Michigan was a member of a group of doctors who ran a "hippie clinic" on weekends. Each doctor would volunteer one weekend a month and provide free medical care to poor people.
There is a huge difference. You were not a “woke” progressive trying to prove how socialism/communism could work in America. You need to get with the program. (s/)
