Even if you think children should be able to pause puberty and take hormones, shouldn’t you at least want to make sure the drugs are safe?“Don’t do it,” yelled Dr. Anthony Fauci in August. “There is no evidence whatsoever that that works!” Fauci, of course, was referring to the use of ivermectin to treat Covid-19. For the moment, set aside that Fauci should have been fired years ago and has a long record of misleading and politicizing “science.” He and pretty much everyone else in America’s public health infrastructure pointed out that ivermectin had not been approved for treating Covid...

Burrell will not appear on her show after the gospel singer made homophobic comments. Burrell referred to "the perverted homosexual spirit" during a sermon at a church in Houston, Texas. She had been due to sing with Pharrell Williams on The Ellen DeGeneres Show later this week. But the talk show host, who is a well-known advocate of gay rights, tweeted : "For those asking, Kim Burrell will not be appearing on my show." 'No excuses' DeGeneres had been asked by fans to cancel Burrell's planned appearance and an online petition was launched. In a video published after the sermon,...

If someone today argued for laws to legally bar interracial marriage that person would universally be labeled a bigot.

But in 1967 when the U.S. Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia struck down state laws prohibiting interracial marriage, 73% of Americans still supported them. Did that mean that more than 70% of Americans at that time were bigots? No. But there certainly came a time that you were one if you continued advocating for such discriminatory laws.

Richard Davis grew up in the black Pentecostal church in the 1960s and '70s that preached homosexuals were doomed not only to eternal damnation but a hotter place in hell than where other sinners might go. Old Testament scripture quoted from the pulpit fostered within Davis a homophobia. By the time Davis was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1982, the overt condemnation of gays in the black church had been tempered into an unspoken acknowledgement that some members of the congregation, and the clergy, might be homosexual. But as long as they did not acknowledge their sexual orientation, they...

Former Air Force Officers: UFOs Tampered With Nuclear Missiles Updated: 2 hours 39 minutes ago (Sept. 25) -- Former U.S. Air Force officers and a former enlisted man are about to break many years of silence about an alarming series of UFO encounters at nuclear weapons sites -- incidents officially kept secret for decades. When the group appears at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Monday, it will offer testimony about events so chilling, it will seem like a day at a science fiction movie festival. To put you in the mood for the...

Who are you to judge? Who are you to say that the more than slightly creepy 39-year-old woman from Arkansas who just gave birth to her 16th child yes that's right 16 kids and try not to cringe in phantom vaginal pain when you say it, who are you to say Michelle Duggar is not more than a little unhinged and sad and lost? And furthermore, who are you to suggest that her equally troubling husband -- whose name is, of course, Jim Bob and he's hankerin' to be a Republican senator and try not to wince in sociopolitical pain...

Alert: Americans who honor the U.S. Constitution’s strict separation of church and state are now genuinely alarmed. Agnostics and atheists, as well as observant people of every faith, fear — sensibly — that the religious right is gaining historic political power, via an ultraconservative movement with highly placed friends. But many of us feel helpless. We haven’t read the Founding Documents since school (if then). We lack arguing tools, “verbal karate” evidence we can cite in defending a secular United States. For instance, such extremists claim — and, too often, we ourselves assume — that U.S. law has religious...

US chastity ring funding attacked The silver ring is a constant reminder of the abstinence promise The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the US government over its funding of a nationwide sexual abstinence programme. The ACLU says the Silver Ring Thing programme violates the principle that the state budget cannot be used to promote religion. A gay rights group has filed discrimination charges against Romania's TAROM airline after the company allegedly excluded gays from a Valentine's day discount offer for lovers. The state-owned firm offered travel discounts during February to couples travelling together, but the offer excluded gays, said Florin Buhuceanu, from Accept, Romania's main gay rights group. Mr Buhuceanu said he tried to purchase tickets for himself and his partner for a two-for-one offer, but was told that people of the same sex did not qualify. He said his organisation filed charges against TAROM with Romania's anti-discrimination board which would discuss the case today....

No Name Calling Week? 1/12/2005By Warren Throckmorton, Ph.D.Yes, name-calling is wrong. But this event’s sponsors reveal the agenda behind banning it. “There is a special place in hell for people like you!” These words were directed at me by a teacher during this past summer’s National Education Association (NEA) convention in Washington, D.C. This delegate to the NEA convention made his prediction in response to my presence at the NEA’s Ex-Gay Educators’ Caucus booth in the convention exhibit hall. His cheery salutation caught me off-guard given the message of tolerance and acceptance I had been hearing around the exhibit hall....

Christian belief has become something to hide in 'free' Britain. ‘THE instincts of the masses are Christian,’ declared Cardinal Manning in 1868, presumably with some satisfaction. Nobody, perhaps not even the Prince of Wales, who famously wishes to be Defender of Faith rather than Defender of THE Faith, would say the same today, although, in terms of being bothered about peace and justice, helping the poor (witness Children in Need) and wearing yellow bands to denote concern about suffering (witness Prince William et al) it is probably true. What is different, however, is that today most people prefer not...

A National Public Radio station in Colorado has touched off a controversy by deciding that God can't be mentioned in what are essentially commercials. A dentist in the Four Corners area of the Southwestern United States uses the phrase, "Gently Restoring the Health God Created," as a theme in his practice. "It's on our stationary and our appointment cards, and things like that," said Dr. Glenn Rutherford, based in Pagosa Springs, Colo. But when he used the phrase in sponsorship of programs on KSUT-FM, a taxpayer-funded National Public Radio station in the area, the staff wouldn't have it. A...
