The Shiite Houthi terrorist organization warned on Friday that American President Joe Biden will pay “a heavy price” for authorizing airstrikes alongside the United Kingdom against Houthi assets in Yemen. The Pentagon and the British Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that they had coordinated dozens of strikes against strategic Houthi targets intended to limit the terrorists’ ability to disrupt international shipping. The Houthis, who consider themselves the legitimate government of Yemen, declared war on the nation of Israel in October in support of fellow terrorist group Hamas’s invasion of the country on October 7, in which it engaged in...

Attorney general announces legal action in UPMC-Highmark dispute PITTSBURGH - Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro filed a petition to stop UPMC and Highmark from a complete separation – which was set to happen this summer. #BREAKING: Shapiro says court order would ensure that UPMC abides by its charitable contribution obligations to Pennsylvania “Given the effect this dispute between UPMC and Highmark is having on Pennsylvanians, and the imminent expiration of the existing consent decree, we are asking the court to take action,” said Shapiro. “These changes are absolutely necessary to prevent UPMC from inflicting further harm on the public by...

Because of the importance of the US market, chocolate manufacturers in Switzerland are submitting to Uncle Sam’s intrusion in their factories but they are not happy about it. “The fact that a foreign authority is involved in our Swiss businesses is unseemly,” Daniel Bloch, of Chocolats Camille Bloch, told Handelszeitung, the German-language business journal. The newspaper has discovered that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to inspect 21 chocolate factories and 18 dairies in Switzerland. The move is part of the implementation of America’s Food Safety Modernization Act, new legislation signed into law by President Barack Obama last...

  • Who Invented "X"mas?

Who invented "X"mas? Why not C'mas, instead? My guess is that it was some twisted lefty from the heyday of communism in America. Someone who thought it important to X out Christ, not simply abbreviate.
  • Mikey Moore for Supper, or, Some Cannibals Ain’t All That Bad...

Because of the recent popularity and notoriety of Michael Moore’s latest flight into propaganda, Fahrenheit 911, a movie I watched this weekend packed an extra punch, on top of its many other visceral attacks on the senses. It’s not often that a European makes a movie which destroys (both literally AND figuratively) liberal documentarians, but that is exactly what the 1979 Italian movie Cannibal Holocaust does, in spades. Made for $100,000.00 in the late ‘70s by director Ruggero Deodato, CH is certainly not for everyone. Most FReepers should, in fact, take a pass. The film is reputed to be the...
