Forget "rolling coal." A new trend called "ICE-ing," in which pickup truck owners purposefully block electric vehicle charging stations, appears to be gaining ground around the country. The practice, whose name is derived from "internal combustion engine," was observed over the holidays at a Sheetz gas station in Hickory, N.C. Reddit user Leicina shared a photo on Dec. 23, 2018, of three large pickups blocking access to Tesla Inc. charging stations. The drivers apparently chanted "----Tesla." "I've never had a supercharging experience like this one," wrote Leicina, who owns a Tesla Model 3. "These trucks blocked all the chargers, chanted...

A county in Central Texas is winning the war on feral hogs one tail at a time. Caldwell County has become the Lone Star State's front line in the fight to curb the exploding population of the wild beasts, which cause millions of dollars in property and environmental damage every year. A volunteer task force has found success using a host of strategies including $5 tail bounties, helicopter hunts and smartphone-controlled corrals. "We're probably the most coordinated program in the state," Nick Dornak, founder of the county's Feral Hog Task Force, told FoxNews.com. In the two years since it was...

The time to speak out and ask questions about the Trans Texas Corridor is near. Residents in Caldwell and Guadalupe counties will get a better understanding of potential impacts to their land usage and future tax revenues next month during Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) public meetings concerning the proposed corridor. The corridor, as envisioned, would consist of a network of brand-new "transportation routes" that would carry passenger vehicles and large trucks in separate lanes and also provide for railway freight, high-speed commuter rail and "infrastructure" for utilities including water, oil, gas, electricity, broadband and "other telecommunications services," TxDOT says....

T-shirt Controversy Surrounds Caldwell Co. School POSTED: 2:13 pm EST March 23, 2004 UPDATED: 5:56 pm EST March 23, 2004 HUDSON, N.C. -- Racial tensions at South Caldwell High School have prompted a crackdown on T-shirts with the Confederate battle flag on them. Fifteen students were sent home from the school Monday for violating the dress code. Principal Byron Jones says the students ignored a letter sent home last week announcing the crackdown, which began Monday. Jones says the school superintendent and school attorney told him to enforce the rule strictly. The T-shirt worn by 17-year-old South Caldwell student...
