The Indiana doctor whose abortion on a 10-year-old girl was used as a talking point by the left and doubted by conservatives has hit back at her detractors - including the state's attorney general, who she is suing for defamation. The account asserts the unnamed girl was forced to seek an abortion in Indiana after her home state of Ohio barred abortions, and became a flashpoint in the debate over abortion rights after it was shared to a local newspaper by an unnamed source last month. The story soon came under scrutiny - with pundits, politicians, news publications and even...

On Tuesday night we learned that Gerson Fuentes, an illegal alien from Guatemala living in Columbus, Ohio, confessed to raping a young girl who was just nine years old at the time. A little girl who should be playing with Barbies and My Little Ponies and jumping rope on the playground. When you report on a story like this, you go into it hoping it’s not true. It’s hard to process the utter depravity of someone who would rape a child. It’s our job to read the police reports and the detailed descriptions of the crimes when we investigate these...

Dr. Caitlin Bernard, the Indiana doctor who treated a 10-year-old Ohio rape victim, warned Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita to cease and desist Friday. Bernard warned that the attorney general's claims she did not report she performed an abortion on the 10-year-old victim were false and defamatory. Her lawyers contended she had complied with applicable reporting laws and that the attorney general's remarks could mislead her patients. INDIANA AG INVESTIGATING DOCTOR WHO PROVIDED CARE FOR CHILD RAPE VICTIM SEEKING ABORTION "We are especially concerned that, given the controversial political context of the statements, such inflammatory accusations have the potential to...

Dr. Caitlin Bernard reported that the alleged rapist was approximately 17-years-old in an official filing to the Indiana Department of Health obtained Thursday by Fox News Digital. On Wednesday, Ohio authorities charged 27-year-old Gerson Fuentes, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, with rape of a minor under 13 years old in the case. The doctor who spread a story about a 10-year-old girl who allegedly travelled from Ohio to Indiana for an abortion is being disciplined for a HIPAA violation for taking the story to the press, Fox News reported. The story originated from Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist who claimed the girl couldn’t legally obtain an abortion in her home state of Ohio. The story came under scrutiny given its single-source nature and Bernard’s history of pro-abortion activism, but an unnamed source has purportedly corroborated the story and revealed new details about the repercussions the doctor is now facing, according to...

he Columbus Dispatch reported on Wednesday that police arrested a 27-year-old undocumented Ohio man, Gerson Fuentes, after he confessed to raping a 10-year-old girl, which resulted in pregnancy. The viral story of the child who needed to seek an abortion out of state after Roe v. Wade was overturned was reported vaguely by the Indianapolis Star and was used as a political weapon to go after Republican legislators who advocate for abortion restrictions. I reported on glaring errors and omissions in the reporting in the Indianapolis Star, which led to fact-checks by multiple news organizations, including Snopes and the Washington...

President Joe Biden's claim that a 10-year-old rape victim was forced to travel across state lines to get an abortion after last month's Roe Vs. Wade ruling has come into question, after a Washington Post fact-checker found the story to be largely unsubstantiated. It has also emerged that the doctor who first shared the story with an Indiana-based news outlet is a prominent abortion advocate - placing further doubt on its credibility. The one-source story was provided to an Indiana news outlet by Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Caitlin Bernard last week. She claimed a child abuse doctor in Ohio contacted her...

President Joe Biden on Friday fumed about a 10-year-old girl in Ohio who was forced to go to another state to get an abortion after she was raped, using the dramatic story to make the case for Democrats to vote this November. Biden raised his voice as he recounted the story, grasping the podium with both hands as he railed about the trauma the girl must have faced and the unfairness of the situation. 'She was forced to have to travel out of state to Indian to seek to terminate the pregnancy and maybe save her life. That's the last...
