President Joe Biden's claim that a 10-year-old rape victim was forced to travel across state lines to get an abortion after last month's Roe Vs. Wade ruling has come into question, after a Washington Post fact-checker found the story to be largely unsubstantiated.
It has also emerged that the doctor who first shared the story with an Indiana-based news outlet is a prominent abortion advocate - placing further doubt on its credibility.
The one-source story was provided to an Indiana news outlet by Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Caitlin Bernard last week. She claimed a child abuse doctor in Ohio contacted her about the case seeking aid from the doctor.
The account asserts the unnamed girl, who lives in Ohio, was forced to seek an abortion in Indiana after her home state banned abortion under its trigger law after Roe v Wade was overturned.
The dramatic anecdote has been widely shared since - primarily as a talking point by the left to lambaste last month's ruling.
On Friday, the president himself referenced the story, using it to help push an executive order that would protect abortions in the wake of the decision - spurring the Post journalist to eventually weigh in.
This isn't some imagined horror,' Biden said. 'It is already happening. Just last week, it was reported that a 10-year-old girl was a rape victim - 10 years old - and she was forced to have to travel out of state to Indiana to seek to terminate the pregnancy and maybe save her life.'
Biden, 79, raised his voice as he recounted the story, grasping the podium with both hands as he railed about the trauma the girl would have faced, and the presumed unfairness of the situation.

Itās 30 minutes where from I live. Itās not like weāre riding on horse & buggy. However with these gas prices, give it time.
Biden is a liar, a congenital liar and not a particularly good one who could care less about the people hurt by his prevarications. I can think of ten off my head, we have: 1) the claim that his son Beau died in combat, making the Bidens a Gold Star family; 2) that he received a merit scholarship and was in the top of his class at a crappy law school; 3) he was admitted to the Naval Academy but didn’t go bc he wanted to play football and Roger Staubach was the QB; 4) he played football and was the “star” for Delaware; 5) his wife died in an accident caused by a drunk truck driver; 6) he had a long distance truck driver’s license for a forest products company in Idaho; 7) he was under attack in Afghanistan; 8) he came from a family of coal miners; 9) he never knew of his crooked son Hunter’s Chinese and Ukrainian business deals; and,10) he “won” the 2020 presidential election.
Once again, whatās a āchild abuse doctor?ā AFAIK, thereās no such specialty. Yet every story Iāve read about this anonymous 10-year-old girl reports this. It was my first clue that this story is bogus.
The press often does not name rapists of children if they are related to the child or part of the household.
You are linking to yet another story as poorly researched as this one. So far, there are no police reports found, arrest records, trial records, or prison records uncovered anywhere. All we have is a single statement from rabid pro-abortion Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist.
This appears to be yet another Dem confabulation to further their cause.
You will need to provide better evidence that it actually happened.

Twitchy had a detailed rebuttal to this story last week. One question they had: what is a child abuse doctor? That is not a medical specialty.
File this under death threat hoax where the full force of the law enforcement FBI CIA NSA and whoever else just can’t seem to trace down where the “death threat” originated or who made it because they don’t exist and it never happened.
...and Biden voters are mentally ill. Looking at all that is happened, they think it’s a trick to make them not support Biden. So, they dig in their heals even more.
To them they are virtuous and loyal beyond measure, a quality trait in a human being don’t you know. They eat this garbage up. They need something to hold onto even if it’s lies told to their face.
Biden votes are as stupid as Biden is evil.
