I completely agree with you on Nolan Ryan... He also had a change up pitch that was faster than most pitchers fastball. Heck, his curve ball was faster than most pitchers fastball!

I saw Ryan quite few times in Houston when he was at his top, and it was frankly just not fair for mere mortals to have to stand at the plate and face him! LOL! I think he probably got more strike outs with the curve and change up than the fastball.

In the 1920's and 30's, many automobiles had to back up La Bajada because their reverse gear was lower than 1st gear.

The original trail is something like a mile or so west of the modern highway.

A north bound train would crawl up La Bajada for sure but even so, I am reasonbly confident that it will go faster than my 74 Beetle did during my college days. Just imagine though how fast the south bound leg will be!

I looked at the station list and my amateur opinion is that the existing Albuquerque stations that are proposed are way too few in number.

It's very surprising how many folks commute to jobs between Albuquerque and Santa Fe with the most common Santa Fe destination being the state government offices. I have no idea if there is any comparable clustering of commuting destinations at the Albuquerque end but kind of doubt it.
Living in Georgia now, I am needless to say, too isolated from the political aspects to have any kind of informed opinion.

If I recall correctly, Dow bought most or all Union Carbide petrochemical plants about 20 years ago. I don't recall this Seadrift plant being part of that acquisition though and the only Texas facility from Union Carbide being the one on the Houston Ship Channel near San Jacinto.

Wonder if this is the tip of a mountain of other shady things going on through OMNI since the article suggests that an OMNI agent (employee?) could be involved. This kind of work is typically costed at $$$ per ton or $$$ per cubic yard and deviations from industry and/or contractural benchmarks should be raising redflags to OMNI management unless they are conveniently ignorant. My opinion....

Perhaps the terrorists and their support organizations are suffeciently weakened or disrupted in Kashmier at least to where the people or army could further degrade the cycle of terror?

I don't believe that CIA liberal leakers, or leakers of any persuasion, will cease their backstabbing and persuing personal agendas until some examples are convicted and jailed. Existing laws need to be strictly enforced, not viewed as an inconvienence.

Shalom hit on the critical factor for me - That is being functional and not just loaded with capability. Button pushing has got to simple and intuitive or a device is not worth messing with.

For example, some time ago I was on a panel that tested different software. I willing confess that I was the least capable person technically as I was a mere layman user but I was included because I had a low tolerance for BS functionality. In other words, if I could and would use the products, then just about any damn fool could.
