Can someone help me find a link to the recent Tucker Carlson Tonight segment on M&Ms? It was on in the past few nights. I saw it on YouTube but now seems to have gone down the memory hole. All that’s available are other people’s commentary on the matter. I would like to see Carlson’s original segment. Thanks

Robbie Knievel, the son of the famed stuntman and daredevil Evel Knievel, has tragically died aged 60. The news was first reported by TMZ, which reports that a source close to the family revealed that Robbie Knievel had been receiving hospice care as he battled pancreatic cancer. Knievel reportedly died on Friday morning (January 13), with his daughters by his side. Following in his father's footsteps as a thrillseeking performer, Robbie rode his first bike when he was just four years old, and went on to perform at his father's Madison Square Garden show when he was just eight. Throughout...

  • Trump Organization Tax Case -explanation needed. (Vanity)

I am having a difficult time understanding the case that was adjudicated today. The press doesn’t really say anything. What are the crimes the company was charged with? Tax fraud is awful broad. What are the specific charges? Is this a New York tax code case? If it is federal, why is it in a New York Court and not a federal? I’ve never heard of a tax case being decided by a jury. I thought tax court had a trial judge. If this is really about taxes, whether state or federal, how can a jury review anything that complicated...
  • Get rid of gas blowers (Emissions numbers off?)

EDITOR: Feeling glum after reading that greenhouse gas emissions hit a record high, I took my dogs to the park. To enter, I held my breath to get by four employees from the Petaluma parks department with gas-powered leaf blowers. Now I’m really down because gas-powered blowers are huge contributors of greenhouse gases. The California Air Resources Board says operating a gas leaf blower for an hour leads to the emission of as much smog-based pollution as driving a Toyota Camry for 1,100 miles. Margaret Renkl of the New York Times quoted one expert saying that “hydrocarbon emissions from a...

A woman who has been classified as a “sexually violent predator” by the state of California is living in Sonoma County, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. Charlotte Thrailkill, 62, a white woman who is 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 130 pounds with blue eyes and red graying hair, is living in Boyes Hot Springs, just north of Sonoma, according to authorities. In 1988, Thrailkill was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, and one count of the same charge but with force, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. She...

Has anyone seen how many viewers the kangaroo committee actually had? It is interesting that searching for the numbers, nothing definitive comes up. Searching for any other TV event it is fairly easy to get numbers, like premiers, final episodes, Super Bowls, etc. Not so with this show. What are the real numbers?
  • California bill would stop DNA from incriminating sexual assault victims

(The Center Square) – A California lawmaker introduced a bill Monday that would prohibit local law enforcement agencies from retaining the DNA profiles collected from victims of sexual assault in databases used to identify crime suspects, to advance privacy protections for sexual assault survivors. Senate Bill 1228 was sponsored by Sen. Scott Wiener to ensure that a sexual assault victims’ DNA could not be used against them in the future. The bill would prohibit the DNA profiles collected from victims of sexual assault – including rape kits – to be used for any other purpose than identifying the perpetrator of...
  • Emissions systems

I occasionally drive big rigs. The emissions systems on the new trucks and particularly in California are crap making the vehicles very unreliable. My question is, instead of various agencies mandating certain systems, like regen or DEF, and EGRs, and all that junk, would we have been better off if the various agencies simply said, here are the emission limits, meet them anyway you can? My guess is that when engineers are given a free hand, they will find a solution. Another question is, what might some of the solutions for cleaner trucks be if they could go outside the...

    Common Sense ^ | 23Dec 2021 | Megan Phelps-Roper
Or so we believed. As a child growing up in the Westboro Baptist Church—you may have known us as the “God Hates Fags” protestors—I never much minded my family’s ideological separatism. The church was my world: my grandfather founded it, my mother was its spokesperson, and everyone I loved was deeply committed to its vision. In practice this meant that from the age of five, my holiday season consisted primarily of a series of protests on cold winter evenings. My extended family and I would hold signs condemning Christmas idolatry, planting ourselves on sidewalks outside of Christmas concerts, church services,...

For liberty, vaccinate EDITOR: When anti-vaxxers challenged the smallpox vaccine mandates in the early 20th century, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected any notion that the Constitution recognizes a right to refuse a mandated vaccine. In Jacobson v. Massachusetts, the court stated: “Real liberty for all could not exist under the operation of a principle which recognizes the right of each individual person to use his own … regardless of the injury that may be done to others.” Using the Constitution to rationalize selfish beliefs is unpatriotic. If you want real liberty for all, go get vaccinated. NATHANIEL RAFF Ukiah

The move has touched off a social media firestorm, and one of the owners is explaining the restaurant's decision in an exclusive interview with ABC7 News anchor Dion Lim. San Francisco Police Chief William Scott is also reacting to the controversy. Staff at North Beach brunch spot Hilda and Jesse on Union St. seated the uniformed officers at a table on Friday. According to chef and co-owner Rachel Sillcocks, restaurant staff grew uncomfortable by their presence and asked the officers to leave, which they did. Sillcocks said the decision to turn the officers away had nothing to do with who...
  • Crime weary San Franciscans to vote on recall of DA Chesa Boudin

SAN FRANCISCO — Elections officials announced Tuesday that a recall election against San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin will appear on the ballot in June, giving residents of the politically liberal city a chance to keep or oust a polarizing figure and former public defender who has been a prosecutor for less than two years. Critics say Boudin, 41, has failed to prosecute repeat offenders, allowing them to commit more crimes that have contributed to the deterioration of the city's quality of life. His supporters say his progressive policies of ending mass incarceration and promoting restorative justice are what San...

It’s not uncommon for Sonoma County Reptile Rescue director Al Wolf to receive a call from a resident about a snake or two in their home. But even Wolf was surprised to discover nearly a hundred rattlesnakes underneath a Santa Rosa home on Oct. 2. He has led the Sebastopol-based nonprofit reptile rescue organization for more than 30 years and this was the first time he’d seen so many in one house, he said. Wolf used 24-inch snake tongs to remove 22 adult rattlesnakes and 59 babies and relocate them to areas where they’re welcome. “I go to specific areas...

In obtaining a real ID and reviewing the list of valid documents to prove citizenry and place of residence, I found it rather telling that a ballot is not considered proof of anything. It is also interesting that my selective service papers are not considered proof of citizenship. Who else would be registered for the draft other than a citizen?
  • Need help with a down payment? California Democrats want the state to chip in for homebuyers

    06/02/2021 5:15:12 PM PDT · by rey · 39 replies
California could get in the business of helping first-time home buyers make down payments under a new proposal that aims to lower barriers to ownership in an era of sky-high housing costs. A coalition of seven Democratic senators formally announced the “California Dream for All” program last week as part of a larger budget proposal they want Gov. Gavin Newsom to consider. The state would serve as a “silent partner” to first-time owners, in exchange for up to 45% ownership of a house. By their calculation, that means someone eyeing a $400,000 home could buy it for “a more affordable...
