Rod Stieger once described how he wanted to kill himself during his depressions, holding on to a small boat over the side and use a gun. He suffered a great deal, but overcame. So glad he never did it. He is happier now.
Agreed. And it is a good looking flag pre 1956. Perceptions matter when a country at war stands together. The Confederate flag divides and with reason.
"Did he go far enough" Like what, MK-47? He went far enough talking about jail time. But not far enough for the politcal game players who don't care about the country, they just want power so they will bash anything George W says.. So who listens to them?
Of course, not the point. Bash America all you want, but try sticking to the point. The Confedrate flag specifically represents fighting to keep slavery. No way around it.
A misguided cause. Fighting for the right to keep human beings enslaved is not noble by any stretch of the imagination. When we were in the deep south not long ago we saw those flags flying over the capitols. And how are black Americans in those cities supposed to feel about it? It was an oppresive feeling to us who were just passing through.
The usual crap. Amazing that being at war doesn't change the game-playing of some. Throwing baseless accusations around is all that organization is about anymore. Nothing constructive, ever.
That flag represents adherence to slavery. It flew over states that believed in slavery and were willing to divide this nation to keep it. It is a affront to millions of Americans.
Father, thank You for giving us George W. We fought for him, and you helped us to have him in place for this time. He asks You to lead him, and we see You in him. We know You are with George, because he constantly speaks of love. Loving our neighbors "just like we'd like to be loved ourselves". He is not political, he is not religious, he just believes in You and follows You. We are with him in this war against terror, against evil. Let the unity of the country remain strong.
They criticize the country that freed them. Now their vice-president is dead. The Afghans better wake up, and respect the USA who are liberators there. You reap what you sow.
