My dad will be going into surgery on Wednesday to repair his knee. The muscle in his leg is dying, and hopefully this will halt the degeneration of his leg muscle so he can regain full use of his leg. I am really worried because he has a lot of back trouble as well, and I worry about the recovery. I also hope that this will relieve the stress on his other leg and lower back and help him to walk with ease. Your prayers are much appreciated!

This is a message for all you Freepers out there! Stop what you are doing and give yourself a pat on the back! We couldn't have done it without everyone's help! We all played a part, whether it be a phone call, a post, a turned voter, a letter to the editor, or a donation. We should all be proud of ourselves and the effort we put in to make sure that our wonderful president, George W. Bush secured a second term! Good job!

Our Law School is giving a professor and a group of students a stipend to go to PA and get the Democrat vote -- they have even excused the from missing class on Tuesday. Is this permissible? There must be some legal or ethical issue here? Our school also gets federal dollars so they are subject to federal restrictions. What do you suggest we do about it? Think we can stop it?

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Sen. John Kerry cited the Iraq war and a huge cache of missing explosives Monday as proof President Bush has "failed the test of being commander in chief." The Republican slammed his rival as "consistently and dangerously wrong" on national security matters. In a race of ever-escalating rhetoric, the president also accused the Democratic challenger of "the worst kind of Monday-morning quarterbacking" on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. But he fell silent on the disappearance of 377 tons of high explosives in Iraq, leaving it to aides to explain. Public polls in the major battleground states...

If David D. Smith, the CEO of Sinclair Broadcasting, knows what's good for him, he'll forget about airing a documentary critical of Democratic presidential contender Sen. John Kerry. At least that's what the New York Times appears to be saying in its Monday article. The Times openly acknowledges the impact this film could have: "Senator John Kerry could find his presidential hopes damaged this week when the 62 television stations owned or managed by the Sinclair Broadcasting Group carry a documentary about his antiwar activities 30 years ago." The Times is clearly worried that Smith, head of the nation's largest...

Please Click Here to Take Action! The Action Item I purchased on Congress.Org reads as follows: Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty Please send the following message to your Congressmen and Senators: Please pass, on an expedited basis, emergency legislation to require voters to show ID at all polling places on Election Day. Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty. There is a significant amount of evidence emerging that evinces a wide-spread plot to engage in massive voter fraud. Thus, Congress must...

In some respects, it is fitting that John Kerry was first elected to the Senate in the year 1984. Perhaps, in fact, his current bid for the Presidency would have fared better in 1984 – not the 1984 we knew but the 1984 as envisioned in the classic dystopian novel penned by George Orwell in the mid-twentieth century. In Orwell’s novel, English Socialism (or “Ingsoc” in Orwellian “NewSpeak”) reigned supreme – and Big Brother was watching you. “The Party,” the ruling class, maintained control of the population in part by taking advantage of the frailties of the human mind, particularly...

Newsweek magazine has rejected an offer to excerpt Kitty Kelley's Bush family expose, "The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty," because a key allegation in the book couldn't be nailed down. "We were one of the magazines that was given the chance to read that book and decide whether we wanted to buy excerpts," Newsweek's Howard Fineman told radio host Don Imus on Tuesday. "We passed [on it.]" Fineman suggested that Kelley's sourcing for the book's central allegation - a claim that George W. Bush had used cocaine at Camp David during the 1980s - was suspicious on...

NEW YORK -- The spirit of our late President Ronald Wilson Reagan was evident among the Republicans gathered in this city for the Republican National Convention. Ronald Reagan's influence lives on amongst the younger GOPers who are here seeking help for their own campaigns to carry the Reagan Revolution well into the 21st Century. Duane Sand, now running for Congress from North Dakota, rose from dirt poverty to become a successful businessman in real estate and running a restaurant. "When Ronald Reagan ran, I was 12 years old," he told Newsmax.com. "I was struck by how he gave me a...

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - About 46,000 people, most of them Democrats, are illegally registered to vote in New York City and in Florida, the liberal New York Daily News reported today. "The finding is even more stunning given the pivotal role Florida played in the 2000 presidential election, when a margin there of 537 votes tipped a victory to George W. Bush." And the investigation doesn't include other states or even the suburbs of New York. The pro-Kerry paper said that efforts to prevent such fraud "rely mostly on the honor system." That's a serious flaw when people who...

I just watched John Kerry's acceptance of the Democratic Presidential Nomination-out of curiousity to see what he would say. And boy...the lies just don't stop! It appalls me to see people cheering a man who stands on no principles except for those that seem convenient that day. Once again, Kerry flouts himself as a Vietnam veteran. How dare he, a man who actively protested against the war with Vietnam Veterans against the War, and a man who betrayed his fellow servicemen during the Winter Soldier investigations. This is a man who accused fellow servicemen of comitting war crimes in Vietnam...

NEW YORK - Bill Clinton says in his new book that his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky revealed "the darkest part of my inner life" and led to his temporary banishment from the White House bedroom to a nearby couch. In "My Life," a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, the former president wrote that when he finally confessed to Hillary Rodham Clinton after months of public denials, she looked as if she had been punched in the gut. The couple started going to counseling one day a week for about a year, he said. The book,...

WASHINGTON – Plagued by miscommunication and confusion, the Pentagon's air-defense command had little opportunity to intercept the four hijacked planes that crashed on Sept. 11 and killed nearly 3,000 people, the federal panel reviewing the attacks said Thursday. At the commission's final public hearing, a report recounting the details of what happened with each of the planes was read aloud before an audience that included victims' relatives, some clutching photos of their loved ones. The reading of the report was interspersed with tape recordings from the planes and control towers that had not been heard in public before. Accompanying graphics...

Tune into Fox News, which just broke the story of President Ronald Reagan's passing. They are doing a lovely job commemorating the late President's life, administration, and recent passing.

Hofstra University's commencement speaker, E.L. Doctorow, didn't break new ground when he used his time at the pulpit to launch a scathing attack on President George W. Bush over the weekend. In fact, many commencement speakers use this kind of forum to explore political issues that seek to poke, prod and reveal changes in society. But where Doctorow crossed the line was using a strident, personal and partisan attack in an environment where families gather to celebrate personal accomplishment and academic excellence. If they wanted to hear the author excoriate the president, they would have probably preferred a venue such...

As many of you know, Nancy Pelosi joins the ranks of the Un-American politicians using their unfettered right to "free speech" to make blasphemous comments against our President and our country. (calling the President "incompetent" and blaming him for the problems in Iraq). This CANNOT STAND! The remarks of Pelosi and others, such as Kennedy, make us the laughing stock of the world, and worse, invite terrorists, knowing they have symapthisers in both Houses of Congress! It is incumbent on all FReepers that we call, write, fax, and email our representatives, and let them know that these politicians have crossed...

I just got off the phone with Ted Kennedy's office, and I thought I would share my conversation with my fellow Freepers! As many of you know, I am in the middle of law school finals, so I am on edge, and little things set me off. Well, as those of you who know me well know, Ted Kennedy has that charm-he can press my buttons. And his appalling remarks on the Senate floor concerning the Iraqi Prisoners/Nick Berg situation did exactly that. So I decided to call his office and give him a piece of my mind. My message...
