Your assertions about Catholicism are mistaken. We don’t worship Mary, we venerate her for her love of God, her humility, and for standing up in faith to play her part in the Salvation of fallen humanity: God chose her to bear the Lord Jesus. She is worthy of honor, respect, and love too, as the mother of our beautiful Lord Jesus.

Catholic worship is reserved solely for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We love and revere Mary and all the Saints in Heaven, and in the same way that I might ask you (as my brother in Christ) to pray for me when I have a need, we Catholics ask for the prayers of not only of our fellow parishioners, but also of all those already in Heaven.

Same with mother Mary: we ask her to pray to Jesus for us, in exactly the same way a member of your church might ask you to pray for them. Needless to say God hear the prayers you make on behalf of your friends. Likewise God also hears the prayers of Mary (or of any Saints in Heaven) who may pray on our behalf.

The entire family of God is to be praying for one another in love, to magnify the Name of Jesus on earth as it is in Heaven.

If you believe that we Catholics have it all wrong, please pray for us. And Christ will correct and guide, drawing us and you closer to His sacred heart. I will be praying too, for Jesus’ blessing to be upon you and your family and that the fire of the Holy Spirit fill you.
