A Kent man who shot and killed a suspected intruder inside his home Saturday was armed with his own handgun when he walked in the door and found the stranger inside his home, police said. A man and woman came home to their condo on Kent's East Hill at 6 p.m. Saturday to find another man inside. The 28-year-old homeowner used his own gun to shoot the suspected intruder, said Kent police spokesman Paul Petersen. It's unknown why the homeowner had a handgun, Petersen said. Police aren't releasing the homeowners' names. The dead man, believed in his mid-20s, has not...

Proud Dad here. My ten year old made his first official catch today. Rigged the down rigger and baited the line with the herring himself then pulled this Coho in about 45 minutes later. I helped with the net. He was 22" and 8 pounds. Caught in Tacoma's Commencement Bay about 50' down at 0930 today. Would of posted this earlier but we just finished it off at dinner 8>) Now if I could just get him to clean the darn things...Didn't get the kings we were out there for but this made the day!

TACOMA, Wash. - Someone with cruel intentions placed a fake ad on Craig's List, inviting people to take whatever they wanted for free from a Tacoma home. Homeowner Laurie Raye says there's little left now of the house. The outside of the home is trashed, the inside is nearly gutted and covered in graffiti. Raye says she is devastated. "I was attached to this home because it used to be my mom's," says Raye. The homeowner says from the light fixtures to the hot water heater, everything is gone - including the kitchen sink. Raye recently evicted the tenant and...

UPDATED 3:58 P.M. A public appearance by an Army lieutenant who refuses to go fight in Iraq was postponed Wednesday after his commanders told him he couldn’t attend his press conference during duty hours. Lt. Ehren Watada’s supporters in the anti-war movement held their mid-day event at Associated Ministries in Tacoma anyway, and played a video recording of the 28-year-old Stryker soldier’s statement against the war. They said he would appear at 6 p.m. Watada says he won’t obey orders to deploy to Iraq with the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, which is leaving later this month for its second...

EVERETT - Think of clowns, and birthday parties or circus rings may come to mind -- not gun-wielding robbers. But that was the case in Everett Wednesday morning when two armed clowns hit a doughnut shop. In full clown make up with red noses, two men walked into Henry's Donut Shop and locked the door. The owner was alone, her husband on his way. "He took the gun and told me, 'not to move.' He wanted money," said husband Be Le, who also sells Vietnamese sandwiches at the shop. Le's wife showed the clowns the cash register, but they had...

TACOMA - A shooting during an attempted robbery at a Tacoma auto store has sent two people to the hospital. Police say a clerk at the Shucks Auto Supply near 72nd and Portland streets spotted and then confronted a man putting gas into a small motorcycle in their display window. But the man told the clerk he was robbing the store anyway, and then pulled a gun. However, another customer in the store was armed, and he pulled his own gun, yelling at the suspect to drop his weapon. At some point, shots were then fired. Exact details are still...

SEATTLE - "Will work for food...or beer" Those are the signs you usually see held by transients on local freeway off ramps. Some are now holding new signs --- advertising a local Web site. Its called "bumvertising." That's the term Ben Rogovy with pokerfacebook.com came up with after talking with transients about his idea. "I told them about my site, and they asked about it, they were curious," he says. "And then I asked them if they wanted to help me out and I'd pay them. And they were very willing. Appreciative, too." Rogovy says holding the professionally made signs...

They have even been included in an exhibition at a New York gallery. Leonard, 74, said yesterday: “I have discovered my artistic enthusiasm for photographing voluptuous naked women. I am snapping them now with great abandon.” A source said: “Leonard’s Star Trek character was strange and this...
