A US bankruptcy court trustee is planning to shut down conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ Infowars media platform and liquidate its assets to help pay the $1.5 billion in lawsuit judgments Jones owes for repeatedly calling the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting a hoax.
In an “emergency” motion filed Sunday in Houston, trustee Christopher Murray indicated publicly for the first time that he intends to “conduct an orderly wind-down” of the operations of Infowars’ parent company and “liquidate its inventory.”
Murray, who was appointed by a federal judge to oversee the assets in Jones’ personal bankruptcy case, did not give a timetable for the liquidation.
Jones has been saying on his web and radio shows that he expects Infowars to operate for a few more months before it is shut down because of the bankruptcy.

Sounds exactly like what we daily accuse Putin of doing.
I somehow doubt the total value of his assets anything but a small fraction of that total so the real goal here was to shut him down.
Why take his ability to generate wealth in order to make his payments? Oh wait... unless this isn’t about money. This is about silencing him.
Maybe someone can buy the assets intact and set Jones up in business.
Indeed. I don't know what his bank-account contains, but his studio equipment is worth very little.
What is to prevent Jones from simply start a new podcast under a new name? That costs next to nothing.
Alex Jones can just start new website called ‘The Real Alex Jones’ and he would recover his audience in a few weeks.

Alex could found a philanthropy and the work for that philanthropy for minimal amount and they could do nothing about it.

This happens to everyone who has a legal judgement against them. See “perfecting the judgement”. The court will provide documentation that will result in a lien against personal and real property that can be sold to pay the judgement.

Not saying I agree with Jones but if we start shutting down every site that claims ______ was a hoax we’re closing a lot of sites.
Wow. Wonder what a franchise like that is really worth? Tangible assets surely but a fraction of the franchise value.
