Supreme Court to Determine Whether States Can Shield Minors from Gender-Transition Procedures
National Review ^ | Jab, 24, 2024 | JAMES LYNCH

The Supreme Court will hear the Biden administration’s challenge to a Tennessee law banning gender-transition procedures for minors, inserting itself for the first time into the heated public debate surrounding the government’s role in protecting children from experimental procedures that come with lifelong medical consequences.

The Supreme Court announced on Monday it will hear United States v. Skrmetti, a case brought by multiple transgender plaintiffs and their families against a Tennessee law prohibiting minors from receiving puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and invasive transgender surgical procedures. The Biden administration joined the case in support for the plaintiffs.

Looks like the justices and decided to get on this one right away. No indication in the article on who voted for the court to accept this case. I can see how the "conservative" justices would be as interested in resolving this as the three leftists.

I’m not very encouraged with this court. Gorsuch seems to be in the pocket of the Gaystapo. And Amy Coney Barrett is an emotional roller-coaster who will be “compassionate” toward “hurting children,” who will be paraded non-stop through the court hearing as fake exhibits.

If the government can’t protect children from being brainwashed and made into eunuchs...what good is the government?

Yes, Gorsuch is something of a weirdo who may end up proving to have been a poor choice. His opinion in the Bostock case was atrocious nonsense. And the government's just-granted petition for certiorari in the Skrmetti case cites Bostock four separate times.

Reminder: the National Review was almost unanimously against Trump ... the same Trump that put the necessary justices on SCOTUS to overturn Roe/Casey and bring abortion back to the states.

So while this article is rightly against gender mutilation of kids, the fact is that we wouldn't be close to protecting kids from this at the SCOTUS level if the NR had their way on Trump not winning in 2016.

As the parent of a child in the .01%, I can attest that there is NEVER a valid reason to transition a child unless they are a hermaphrodite undergoing corrective surgery.

Exactly. Next will be the involuntary euthanasia of senior citizens.

Here is the Sixth Circuit appellate decision against them, L. W. v. Skrmetti, which the unhappy children's advocates and Biden are appealing.

The same government that destroyed lives and careers for off-label use of Ivermectin wants to mandate the off-lable use of hormones for minors.

The fact that Joseph Mengele Satanic child mutilation has become a Supreme Court issue is evidence that the nation is already dead.

The Supreme Court will hear the Biden administration’s challenge to a Tennessee law banning gender-transition procedures for minors,

The Court should uphold the law because there's certainly not anything in the Constitution about genital mutilation on minors and therefore should be left to the states.

States ‘shield’ them from cigarettes, booze, bad parents, hot cars, xxx rated movies, school shooters, unsafe playground equipment, plastic bags, ...

...so I think it can do this other thing as well with just the same ‘authority!

BWAHahaha. When’s the last time THAT ol’ dusty document was referenced??

Nearly EVERY Court case decree should be a simple one-paragraph, @ most:

“Fed. loses...again, being there’s ZERO Constitution authority in this arena, per the plain English of A1S8, A2S2 vs. 9th/10th A.”

Instead, these ‘highly educated’ tyrants in black robes, knowing from whence their bread is buttered, will attempt, yet again, to count the # of angels that can dance on the head of a pin in favor of Fedzilla unless it so egregious not to do so.

And we still don’t yet have their decisions for this session, waiting with bated breath.

I’m not very encouraged either, and it further depends on what comes of this week.

Let’s just hope the Roberts’ Court remembers that America is a Republic.
