Fascinating. Thanks for sharing this and your previous experiences, too!

Since reading the Bible, I’ve been trying to reconcile the Edgar Cayce material regarding reincarnation, which I first read and believed decades ago, vs that verse in the Bible, which I have come to read, study and believe now, which seems to say the opposite.

Eventually, I just gave up and added reincarnation to my pile of similar things I once knew for sure but now am not so sure about anymore.

Your comments are helpful for keeping my questions and questioning spirit alive! It’s better for me to not become too full of myself and what I “know” for sure.

Trump, "he's a weak man's vision of a strong man."

After watching him fight these last few years, including his immediate near death response to getting shot while making a speech, I guess I’m also one of those weak men who sees Trump as a strong man.

I am not a fan of some of his personality traits, but I am impressed by his strength and his willingness to fight for what he believes is right no matter what.

On the plus side, he seems to understand the world and has a better handle on how things work, what to do and what not to do, than any of the other candidates.

Hopefully, he can find a few like-minded souls in DC to help him do what needs to be done. His people picks have not been the best for some reason and that’s a definite minus.

Oh well … you fight with the army you have, I guess, and I will hope for the best once again.

  • Why So Many Christians Reject Sabbath?

Perhaps it’s better to not judge evangelicals about what you think they hate. That’s dangerous and potentially sets you up to be measured by a similar ruler.

Rather than hatred, I think confusion is the norm regarding the Sabbath day. So many questions: What day is the Sabbath, what we can do, can’t do, should do and shalt not do, etc.?

And, however one answers any of these questions, and because we all have so many different answer, does it even matter? And if it does, then to what degree if we get it wrong? Major sin? Minor sin? All sin is sin? Forgiven sin?

Who knows? And if someone does know, then why should anyone listen to them, right? We all have our own truths that we believe are just as good as anyone else’s, right?

Me? I agree with the 7th Day denominations that the Sabbath day is Saturday, not Sunday.

I think the change to Sunday was mandated by law as a political solution to both ease bringing pagans into the Christian fold and to also be wholly separate from the Jews.

And I believe that Jesus essentially tore up Mosaic Law, as written by Moses, and replaced it with Himself. But, the 10 Commandments were written by God and given to Moses and through Moses to the Jews and the world, and are still in effect now and forever.

Regarding the Sabbath, beyond not working or making anyone else do work for me on the Sabbath day, I don’t have a clue what to do or what not to do compared to the other 6 days of the week.

So, if someone is of clear mind and strong faith and whole heartedly believes the Sabbath day is Sunday and acts accordingly, is Jesus cool with that or not? I don’t know. Not my call.

Again, more confusion, I suppose, but it’s not worth falsely accusing anyone of hatred or some other motive or agenda and then potentially reaping what one sows as a result.

I think you’re right and I’ve wondered how this would come about.

Regarding Ezekiel 38-39, for a while there, Russia seemed like it was becoming a Christian nation and seemingly was becoming more friendly with Israel.

And Turkey, however it’s spelled now, seemed more likely to be the northern nation in the Gog/Magog scenario and not Russia.

But, recently, with Putin’s war against Ukraine, Russia seems to have returned to its old ways and appears to be walking the appropriate steps now to fulfilling biblical prophecy.

Russia is strongly allied with the enemies of Israel and is helping them militarily against Israel.

As it is now, I think Russia has chosen … poorly. Jesus gave them a chance, though, when the Soviet Union fell and Russia was reborn, but that chance seems to have been squandered now.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. God’s got this …and from a long time ago.

… he actually is qualified, for the very reason that he's not qualified. Simply put, he's not a career politician. He's a real person who represents real Americans.

So are all of my friends and family, but that doesn’t make any of them qualified to be POTUS.

As with all things political, I hope for the best and prepare for the worst, so I hope Trump has made a good choice.

    Russia is the supposed superpower.

But, alas, Russia is a victim, too, don’t forget.

See, Putin’s Russia had to invade Ukraine, because obama, Biden, Blinken and the ultra dangerous, no one can resister her, Vicky Nuland made Putin do it.

So, it’s not his fault. The US neo-cons made him do it. Booo, bad, bad, bad ol’ neocons!

And Putin’s not actually invading Ukraine, doncha know. No, no, he’s liberating Ukraine!

So … Yay, Putin. What a man. What a hero. What an idiot!

I think Ukraine’s situation is like the rape and murder of Kitty Genovese.

We can either be like her neighbors, who heard it all and did nothing to help her, or we can choose to help.

Last century, wearied by WWII and the need and struggle to rebuild Europe after the war, not unlike Kitty Genovese’s neighbors, the West looked away as Soviet Russia invaded and assimilated its neighbors.

This time, the West, mostly via NATO, is stepping up with aid and commitments to continue to help Ukraine stay Ukraine.

Is helping Ukraine the right thing to do? Or would it be more morally correct to ignore Ukraine’s pleas for help against its attacker?

I think we should defend our borders and help Ukraine defend its borders, also. That would be consistent with our values and our beliefs as stated in our laws and in our Bill of Rights.

Western missiles and howitzers have kept the Ukrainians in the fight and have inflicted huge losses on the Russians but they have done little to minimize Ukrainian losses.

This is about the only thing you wrote that I agree with and even then I only agree with half of what you said.

I think the various ground to air missile, gun and drone systems in use from the beginning until now have done an admirable job protecting Ukrainian citizens from Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian civilians and civilian targets. And, they are getting better at it, too, though the glide bombs against the military are a significant problem yet to be dealt with.

More of these defensive systems is better, of course, and fortunately more continues to come to their defense. New weapons arriving throughout the summer should help them to defend themselves even better against Putin’s attacks and his attempt to steal their land and assimilate them, which are great reasons to never quit fighting against Putin.

Putin has killed a lot of people in Ukraine for no good reason whatsoever. If he wins, the atrocities done against Ukrainians will likely be worse than anything we’ve learned about or is rumored. These are also great reasons to never surrender to Putin.

He’s the warmonger who brought division and then war to Ukraine and Georgia, as their old playbook dictates, but I think he’ll punch himself out in Ukraine long before his opponent quits fighting for their freedom and independence.

Ukrainian death toll has been reported as two to three times the Russian's which would mean over a million dead so far if true.

Which is why it isn’t true. Traditionally, the attacking forces receive greater casualties than the defenders do and this is true in Ukraine, also.

Recent counts suggest that the Russian casualties are 3x Ukraine’s, but have risen to 6x the Ukrainian casualties thanks to growing parity of artillery and other weapons and the style of attack the Russians favor that results in high Russian casualties.

The Russians have lost an astonishing number of tanks and APCs and have had to adjust to this reality, leading to even higher than usual Russian casualties. And soon, F-16s and other weapons will be joining the battle to save Ukraine from Putin and Russian losses will continue as now and will likely increase.

More to the point, as they watch history repeat itself, former Soviet countries are coming together to aid Ukraine, too. They don’t want to go back to those bad old days under the old Soviet ways as Putin clearly does want to do.

The only “win” for Putin is for him to quit killing Russians in Ukraine and go back home and stop attacking and killing his Slavic family neighbors like he is doing now.

They poll the wrong places. Here on Free Republic, Putin’s popularity is very high!

On Free Republic, Putin enjoys the same kind of love, respect and support that obama, Biden and Hillary receive from the American media.

According to Free Republic’s most prolific posters, no matter what Putin does in or to Ukraine or anywhere else, Putin is the victim and it’s America’s fault.

Lots of excuses, but the reason for Russia invading its neighbors is Putin.

Putin does what he wants to do and I don’t think he’s easily played by Nuland. In fact, it’s kinda insulting to think so, right? I mean, seriously? Putin was played by that woman? Yeah, right … I really don’t think so.

Instead, I think his psychology is that of a collector and, as Russia’s czar for life, he has the ability to collect whatever he wants and he has. He’s an extremely rich and politically powerful man.

Most collectors never sell and consider it a personal tragedy if their collection is broken up. If that happens, they usually go back to collecting as before as soon as possible. It’s who they are. It’s what they do. It’s their nature and so it is with Putin.

Putin has spoken about the break up of the Soviet Union and the loss of those nations that had been assimilated and were part of that collection. He considers it a tragedy that should never have happened.

I think his nature is to do whatever he can and whatever it takes to put that collection back together again, which he is doing now.

To that end, he most likely will continue to use their old playbooks to make that happen step by step, as he has done in Ukraine for a decade or so now, the same as with last century’s Soviet conquests and assimilations.

Putin is sick with his MRSA virus (Make Russia Soviet Again) and it is necessary to contain and quarantine him so that his sickness doesn’t spread … again.

Putin is such a fool and is utterly clueless about human nature.

He could have had a “buffer zone” of friendly nations surrounding Russia *if only* he would have been a good neighbor and stayed in his yard.

But … he didn’t(!) and, as it is now, he’s going to get everything he said he doesn’t want, including missile attacks on Moscow to match his attacks on Kyiv if he doesn’t stop his madness, pick up his toys and go back home.

Though it has given them more work to do than Team Biden had after slow Joe’s debate disaster, it’s obvious the Russians and their fan girls here at Free Republic are proud of their team, including their cruise missile attack on the children’s hospital.

It’s indefensible, but here they are anyway, as usual, with their gaslighting propaganda, memes and insults.

Don’t they know they are simply arsonists now adding fuel to a fire they can’t extinguish and eventually will consume them entirely?

At some point, outrage will cross a threshold and what goes around will come back around for them with no remorse whatsoever the same as it has for others who’ve gone down that same path.

The Russians have history with Poland and some really bad karma coming around for them, too, as a result.

From that perspective, Putin would have been much better off being friends with all and taking no offense with any, no matter what Vicky Nuland or anyone else might say to trigger him, and ignore his inner demons for as long as it takes to work off that bad karma and become a good neighbor for a real change of heart and life.

But … he didn’t. Oh well. So, now I watch to see what karma and Fate have for him. It’s looking like he has screwed up in every way possible and will feel it.

May God help his victims and the poor Russians caught in this cosmic crossfire.

No surprise. I’ve now been convinced it’s who they are; it’s what they do.

Putin’s Russians started this by doing things like cluster bombing a Ukrainian train station and have been launching missiles at Ukrainian civilians and civilian targets ever since.

The Russians reveal their nature and themselves by their actions, the same as their supporters here do with their insults, arguments and a similar pathological lack of empathy.

These kinds of actions have long lasting consequences, as in “Good luck with eternity.”

How do you pro-Zelenskyy supporters feel about this?

I don’t know how they feel, but I think you are acting like a stupid, hate-filled idiot who is easily played by low rent internet fakes like this one.

You probably think that none of what you post is harmful to you in any way, right?

Sadly, this is not true. You’re anonymous here online, but not with God. He sees it all and we all will be held in Judgment for everything we do online the same as everywhere else, so why waste your self and soul and this chance you’ve been given in this way?

If you know Him at all, then you know His Bible is full of the things He abhors, considers an abomination and commands us not to do, so why flaunt it by bearing false witness and spreading lies as blatant as this is?

Why set yourself up for the same Judgements you pronounce on others? That is reality and this life is just a placement test to determine where and how you spend eternity, so don’t eff it up.

May God have Mercy upon you and us all who fall for Satan’s traps so easily and then condemn ourselves so willfully and so blindly online and everywhere else in life.
