Rejecting the application of a moron with horrible interpersonal skills is hardly "cronyism." Well put. BTW, why are the conservative blogs capitulating on this story? Captain's Quarters and Q&A are both calling for Jackson's head. The only blog that's taking the right point of view -- this guy was an idiot who doesn't deserve the government's money if he makes comments like that -- is the reliably excellent Scrutator. I feel like we're not pushing back hard enough here. You know the moonbats will be calling for the guy's head if they aren't already.

I'm a little stunned by your post. Bush has been one of our best presidents ever. Certainly, along with Reagan, the best of the past 50 years. And you assail him because of a bogus poll.

The trouble is this: the MSM has shown no shame in its partisanship with respect to this administration. Watching the news other than Fox, you would have no idea that Iraq is stabilizing, that they are beginning to stand up themselves, that they have a new government for Pete's sakes.

I take solace in this, if nothing else: this president doesn't govern by polls, this president answers to a higher power than Gallup or Zogby.

If Jeb Bush runs, all bets are off; Jeb sails through the primary and trounces the left in the general election. True. A lot of people aren't taking Jeb into consideration here, but I think he's the strongest candidate out there. He has a great record as governor and he's got the Bush name. Truthfully, I'd be happy with anyone with the last name Bush -- at this point, we could maybe have 8 years of Jeb followed by 8 years of another Bush.

Those who are shilling for Giuliani or McCain as our next presidential candidate would be wise to remember this. Amen. Either one would be, essentially, Hillary-lite. Giuliani is, if anything, more of a puppet of the homosexual lobby than most Dumborats.

I've heard that too. To me, Duke Cunningham is still a hero -- innocent until proven guilty.

Most of what passes for science these days is nothing more than left-wing propagnda. There's hardly any sound science anywhere anymore.

This is exactly why we needed to get Goss into to clean things up. These Tenet-era hold overs were incompetent -- we knew that -- and now we learn that they were crooks as well.

I think it is time for a sedition act. There was a good article about that on Town Hall recently. People like Al Gore and Michael Moore are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. The enemy we face now may well be the most insidious we have ever faced. It is time to use the same weapons we used to fight WWI, WWII, and the Civil War, it is time to clamp down on the treasonous speech spewed by the loony left...before it is too late.

I'm sure these scientists have a liberal agenda. The way they push this global warming crap is just outrageous. There is no SOUND SCIENCE to support it. It is nothing but a crackpot liberal theory, just like evolution and the big bang.

These scientists have only two goals: (1) to take God out of science and (2) to blame everything that goes wrong on Bush.

All of these crackpot scientists should be fired on the spot and replaced with people who understand that science is supposed to be OBJECTIVE not a subjective attempt to push one's own political agenda.

It just goes to show we had a PLAN. Exactly. Do you think sometimes that liberals seem almost proud of their own disorganization and incompetence?

It's a pretty interesting article. The Federalist Society has done a great job of putting the judiciary in order. One thing that these sorts of articles overlook, though, is that the society is about creating qualified candidates like Roberts and Alito, not just getting them appointed.

It's a bit sad to see the way the name McCarthy is dragged through the dirt, almost reflexively, by those who know nothing about what he did or what he stood for. The portrayal of Senator Joe McCarthy as a wild-eyed demagogue destroying innocent lives is sheer liberal hobgoblinism. Liberals weren't cowering in fear during the McCarthy era. They were systematically undermining the nation's ability to defend itself while waging a bellicose campaign of lies to blacken McCarthy's name.

What a joke to hear Mr. Appeasement himself telling president Bush to get tough. You can bet those mud mullahs are a lot more scared of George W than they ever were of Slick Willie.

I say that as Iraq winds down, maybe in the fall, we go into Tehran in early 2007, then Syria in 2008, and hopefully, for the trifecta, North Korea shortly after that. The whole axis of evil will fall.

Leave that stuff for Al Gore, wolf. Conservation only goes so far. We need to make sure that there is a safe, reliable source of oil if our economy is going to continue to grow.

Here's the timetable I see: as Iraq winds down in late 2006, we mount an attack on Iran in early 2007. Then, in another 12-18 months, we take out Syria. After that, possibly North Korea. Freedom is on the march.

This is a big non-issue. No one outside the Beltway cares about this from a political perspective. But to connect Abramoff with DeLay, Ney, etc. is just Dean-Sheehan skullduggery. Abramoff is a corrupt guy, but both parties are equally guilty. DeLay wasn't friends with him: Abramoff had a yarmulke and a full beard -- would DeLay be friends with someone like that?

And for the party of Tammany Hall to try to make the corruption issue their own? Bring it on!

Letterman is atrocious. CBS should have taken him off the air long ago, but what do you expect from the network of Dan Rather. The good thing is that most people realize that Letterman joined the ranks of the loony left long ago. I wish there was something we could to -- boycott his sponsors, perhaps -- to force CBS to take him off the air, or at least provide an alternative point of view on the show.

"He and his cronies gave to both parties. He and his wife's contributions aren't the issue here. More than $3 million was given to Democrats, including 90% of the D's in the Senate."

Good point. And I'll hazzard a guess that most of the illegal activities involved Democrats. "Congressman #1", as mentioned in the indictment, is most likely Dorgan or Reid.

The party of Tammany Hall will never change their corrupt ways.
