OMAHA, Neb. A federal judge in Omaha, Nebraska, has ordered the deportation of three Egyptian students who were among eleven at the center of a nationwide search last month.

The organization building a Muslim youth camp on Coralville Lake is asking Linn and Johnson counties for a small amount of financial support and their endorsements to go after a larger state grant. Bob Ballantyne, a member of the Muslim Youth Camps of America board of directors, asked the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at their informal work session this morning to sign a letter of support for a $250,000 Vision Iowa grant. He also asked the board to consider a "token" contribution to further show the Vision Iowa board that MYCA had the county's support.

A man was jailed on $500,000 bail Saturday after authorities alleged he tried to board a plane bound for his native Yemen with a knife hidden in a book. Mohammed Ghanem, 21, of Hamtramck, was arrested Thursday at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after Transportation Security Administration officers detected the knife "artfully concealed" in the book, airport spokesman Michael Conway said.

The U.S. government ordered Venezuela to close its military purchasing office in Miami after suspending arms sales to the South American country, American officials said Thursday. The U.S. government announced in May it was banning new arms sales, accusing President Hugo Chavez's government of failing to cooperate in counterterrorism efforts - a charge strongly denied by Chavez. Venezuela's Foreign Ministry demanded that the U.S. government uphold all pending contracts for military equipment. American officials have said the United States would honor such contracts.

MADRID, Spain (AP) - The Spanish government agreed Friday to contribute up to 1,100 troops to the strengthened U.N. peacekeeping force in Lebanon and lead one of its multinational brigades. The decision, made at a weekly Cabinet meeting, is expected to be approved by the parliament in a Thursday vote. "The United States can support us in putting real pressure on Israel to lift the siege," the Western-backed Saniora told reporters. His government has called the blockade a violation of the U.N.-brokered cease-fire, and has asked the international community to intervene. Lebanon's leading An-Nahar newspaper reported that Saniora had spoken with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to enlist their help.

Amherst, NY (WBEN) - Federal agents raided a home in Amherst, and arrested three people they say are linked to an overseas terror cell. The FBI raided a home on Shetland Drive over the weekend, and the three unidentified suspects were charged with raising and laundering money for the Tamil Tigers terror group in Sri Lanka. Immigration officials have now picked up all but two of the eleven Egyptian exchange students who came to the U-S for a summer course in Montana but never showed up for classes. U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents tracked three of the students to Des Moines, Iowa, where they were arrested yesterday. Others were picked up earlier in New Jersey, Maryland, Chicago and Minnesota.
