The “Republican” brand is severely tarnished. Currently just 25% of Americans identify themselves as “Republicans.” On the other hand, 38% of Americans identify themselves as “conservative,” which is more than any other ideological group by 15 points. These numbers are prompting a national conversation about how to “save the soul of the Republican Party” among conservatives, or if the party is still worth saving at all.

I'm often asked, "Zo, why aren't you ever on FOX News or Red Eye or somethin'? To which I reply, "you'd have to ask them." Well it looks like enough of ya must have asked them. Red Eye contacted me about being on the show. They didn't say when though.

Many immigrants are drawn to the Midwest for the same reasons that anyone moves to the heartland: job opportunities, the strong educational system and the high quality of life. However, new immigrant workers are too often vulnerable to discrimination, exploitation or unsafe working conditions, according to Amy Weismann, University of Iowa Center for Human Rights deputy director. The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded a grant of $50,000 to the UI Center for Human Rights, the UI Labor Center and Nebraska Appleseed for Law in the Public Interest to extend significant outreach activities to immigrant workforces in Iowa and Nebraska....

PHOENIX, Ariz. – ACORN members are celebrating President Obama's announcement today of the "Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan," the first federal effort to fight foreclosures since the crisis that brought down the economy began two years ago. For years, ACORN has been advocating repeal of the ban on judicial modifications, a central plank in the Obama plan that Congress should immediately take up in a must-pass bill and get to the President in March. Obama also proposes administrative actions to spend $75 billion of the Financial Stabilization Fund on facilitating modifications and to require companies receiving taxpayer assistance to use...

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A University of Iowa employee has filed a suit in U.S. District Court, claiming her conservative political views kept her from being hired by the school's College of Law. Teresa Wagner has worked in the law school writing center since 2006. She says in the filings that she was denied for two positions with the College of Law "for illegal reasons." Wagner's suit says that at least 46 of the 50 or so faculty members that vote on faculty hires in the law school are registered as Democrats in Johnson County.

The legal hurdles that API feared in connection with the release of the tape has now been settled. The American people has soon to be treated to the truth about the true personality of their (probably) incoming first Lady. API is soon to conclude an agreement on which of the media channels in the US is to air the Michelle Obama tapes. This has come about because many news channels have shown great interest in getting the tapes so that they air to the American people before the elections. Many Americans are waiting and we promise to satisfy their desire...

WAR can be funny. Amid the blood, the broken lives and fractured affairs of state there must, somewhere, sometimes, be reason to smile; the "if you didn't laugh you'd cry" axiom. Think about the war on terror. We have George W. Bush – a complete joke every time he opens his mouth without a teleprompter. We have nasty little men running around with tea-towels on their heads trying to blow up civilisation as we know it. We have fridge magnets exhorting us to be alert but not alarmed – and this sage counsel is nothing to do with the cold...
