OKLAHOMA CITY - First-degree manslaughter charges will be filed Wednesday against five officers involved in the shooting death of 15-year-old Stavian Rodriguez. According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, the soon-to-be-charged officers were identified as Corey Adams, Jared Barton, Bethany Sears, John Skuta and Brad Pemberton. Rodriguez, who was accused of armed robbery last Nov. 23 at a southwest Oklahoma City convenience store, was confronted and shot by police.

Oklahoma legislators are working to pass another bill, HB 2273. It's a companion bill to SB 6 which is working it's way through the state senate. Both bills would make it illegal to photograph or video law enforcement and publish it on an online site, forum or social media platform. There's been a lot of confusion and concern with the two bills as you can imagine. So what exactly will the new law do and what are the penalties for violating the law? An 8-year-old student was kicked out of a Christian elementary school, after she told another female student she had a crush on her, the mother says. The incident occurred last week, when Chloe Shelton, a second grader at Rejoice Christian School in Owasso, Oklahoma, told another female student she had a crush on her, mother Delanie Shelton told CNN.

She's been on the cheer squad, color guard and enjoys learning and hanging out with friends. NORTH CHICAGO, IL – The city of North Chicago is is leaning on a seldom used state law that allows them to recall retired officers during an emergency situation. The city believes that it has hit that “emergency” threshold to invoke the law. The North Chicago Police Department was unable to adequately staff their 9-1-1 dispatch center, which they subsequently closed. The city argued that at one point prior to the closing, they were only able to have six employees to cover the call center around the clock, seven days a week.

PROVO — Provo police have confirmed that one person was shot during a protest Monday night near the police department. The victim, a 60-year-old Provo resident, remained hospitalized Tuesday but was “stable,” according to police. The man was not part of the protest or counterprotest that had been going on, but was just driving in the area, said Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH)- After attending the Black Lives Matter Children's March in early June, OKCPS Superintendent Sean McDaniel announced new additions to OKCPS schools. Monday night Dr.McDaniel highlighted the conversations the district is having and said one of the by-products of the march will be making formal clubs that will be Black Lives Matter chapters.

A Minneapolis manufacturing company has decided to leave the city, with the company’s owner saying he can’t trust public officials who allowed his plant to burn during the recent riots.
