Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has President Joe Biden’s personal phone number, the president told reporters Tuesday as Hurricane Milton approaches Florida’s west coast.
Biden’s statement undercut Vice President Kamala Harris’s apparent attempt to appear presidential to voters.
On Tuesday, an unnamed aide to DeSantis told the establishment media that the governor refused to take a call from Harris about the storm, allegedly because the governor believed the vice president was only calling for political reasons. However, DeSantis denied Harris had called him at all.
NBC News reported De Santis’s denial. “I didn’t know that she had called. I’m not sure who they called. They didn’t call me. Their characterization of it was something that they did. It wasn’t anything that anybody in my office did, in terms of saying it was political,” he told reporters Monday at a press conference.

It would be stupid to call Kamala for any reason anyway. She ain’t the president and she ain’t in charge of anything. Sheesh! He’d be better off calling Jill.
Whether she likes it or not- Harris is not the president. Biden is- and he and DeSantis have known each other awhile- they know how it works. Harris, as seems to be normal for her, hasn’t any idea what to do.
On a personal level- I expect the president and the governor are privately chuckling.

What a memory. Wonder how many young people know what that was?
Once I noticed some undergrads at the university didn’t have watches and I was told confidently “nobody wears a watch any more because we use our flip phones to open up and look for the time.”
Then I noticed a few years later they were back to colorful and sometimes huge watches as a fashion. And flip phones were a running gag for Gibbs on NCIS. Plus the ghetto status symbol of the stolen Rolex or the faux Rolex they bought from someone in the hood. Shouldn’t insult them; some of the expensive watches weren’t stolen. Bought with crime money or narcotics sales cash.
Maybe some Dems who are disillusioned with Kamala and the way she got the nomination will do a write-in for Biden.

If he wants true revenge, he could retract his endorsement of Harris and say that he’s remaining neutral in the race.
