LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - A reporter for WAVE 3 News, Kaitlin Rust appears to have been hit by pepper balls, reportedly fired by a Louisville Metro Police Department officer, during a protest in the downtown area.
Rust appeared to have been hit as she reported during a live segment on WAVE 3 News during the ongoing protest.
It was previously reported that the officer was firing rubber bullets, but Jessie Halladay with LMPD says their officers do not use rubber bullets, and it was likely that Rust was hit with pepper balls.
During night two of several hundred protesters gathering downtown in wake of protests across the country following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, crowds appear to be larger and police are continuing their efforts to clear the area.

You laugh, but while LEO’s are wasting resources on girl reporters, roving bands of anarchists are smashing windows and setting off flash grenades just a couple of blocks away.
I’m sure the businesses will appreciate that cop’s priorities.

How long will the 15 buck an hour ‘protestors’ put up with live ammo and high powered pressure hoses and longing for Mommys basement?

Had she been hit with a rubber bullet she wouldn't have been able to walk and talk. She would have been on the ground screaming and sobbing in pain.
Strolling up behind the police in the middle of a civil war is not a good idea, even if the dork back at the station encourages you to go where you got to go.
