Last year the U.S. experienced something that hasn’t definitively occurred since the Great Depression: More people moved out than moved in. The Trump administration has hailed the exodus—negative net migration—as the fulfillment of its promise to ramp up deportations and restrict new visas. Beneath the stormy optics of that immigration crackdown, however, lies a less-noticed reversal: America’s own citizens are leaving in record numbers, replanting themselves and their families in lands they find more affordable and safe.

The staff at Advent Cardiovascular ER tried everything in their power to save her but she was too unstable after four rounds of CPR. The ER physician was untiring in his and his team's efforts to keep her alive but there was too much going wrong all at once. To revive her at that point would have condemned her to life with severely compromised brain function. We were together 42 years. I placed an obituary for her on Legacy.com but family members and friends are dispersed over many areas of the country and I don't think they are seeing it....

The last time temperatures in Tampa, Florida, reached or dropped below 32°F was on January 13, 2011. During that event, temperatures dropped to 29°F, causing ice to form on the Veterans Expressway. While a significant cold blast occurred in January 2018, the most recent official 32-degree (or lower) reading for the city occurred in 2011. That was fifteen years ago.

And I have very expensive Medicare Advantage PPO insurance. Where have all these people clamoring for medical services come from, and why has medical care literally been hijacked in the State of Florida? I couldn't even understand the woman at the specialist's office, her foreign accent was so thick. This appointment was on a referral from my PCP. Where is DeSantis on all of this? Is it the same in other states as well? Why are we allowing foreign hordes to debase the quality of medical care available to US citizens in their own country?

The Pentagon has ordered about 1,500 active-duty soldiers to prepare for a possible deployment to Minnesota, defense officials told The Washington Post late Saturday, after President Donald Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act in response to unrest there. The soldiers are assigned to two infantry battalions with the Army’s 11th Airborne Division, which is based in Alaska and specializes in cold-weather operations.

Sitting underneath Ayyash’s menu with its hot, very hot and “pepper x” levels of spiciness, a slim, 30-something Palestinian American named Zyad is snacking on some of Ayyash’s specially seasoned french fries. This, he says, is one of his favorite options in Temple Terrace, a city on the northeast side of Tampa Bay and epicenter of its robust halal food scene. “There’s a Yemeni place down the road, several shawarma options, an Arab grocery store, a Turkish grocery store, bakeries, clothing stores, restaurants, food trucks. The list goes on,” he told New Lines. “Tampa,” Zyad said, “is like the new...

A county run by a construction industry magnate with a net worth to rival Trump's, a magnate whose tainted son-in-law keeps getting re-elected Sheriff on the Republican ticket with never any serious opposition in the primary. A county illegal aliens stick to like iron shavings to a magnet, because there's tons of construction jobs just waiting for them here and law enforcement (there's an oxymoron for ya) looks the other way, and where the cost of labor for that magnate I was telling you about is negligible because of his cheap labor pool protected by the son-in-law. Try visiting one...

My wife age 81 recently developed the need to see a cardiologist for A-fib (non-valvular) which has been releasing blood clots into her lungs causing pulmonary edema and inability to breathe on two occasions requiring EMT intervention and hospitalization. These events have also caused her to lose most of her ability to ambulate and have also caused loss of mental clarity. The hospital has not provided us with a referral to a cardiologist only saying my wife needed to see one on an out-patient basis, and this despite having referred her the second time to a skilled nursing facility for...

Two federal judges on Oct. 31 said the U.S. Department of Agriculture is legally required to use emergency funds to pay out food stamps benefits during the government shutdown. The Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program’s (SNAP’s) funding was set to lapse on Nov. 1 because of the government shutdown, potentially affecting the food security of more than 40 million Americans. A federal judge in Rhode Island ruled from the bench that the program must be funded using at least the contingency funds. U.S. District Judge Jack McConnell also asked for an update on progress by Monday.

A federal judge has denied the federal government’s request to delay the significant dismantling of the South Florida detention facility—also known as Alligator Alcatraz—at the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. In a previous order, the judge had halted the transfer of detainees to the center, stopped new construction, and ordered the removal of some aspects of the facility. U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams of the District Court for the Southern District of Florida released her decision on Aug. 27, after attorneys for the Department of Homeland Security and the Florida Division of Emergency Management submitted a motion to stay her...

Parents in the United States have quite a lot of freedom when it comes to naming their children. However, some names are banned across the country and cannot be used officially. Naming prohibitions aim to stop people from choosing offensive or confusing names. Trademarks are also usually not permitted. Here are some examples of illegal names in the United States: [snip] If you’re considering an alternative name for your baby, it’s best to check a comprehensive list of illegal baby names in the United States. Other restrictions, like banned characters, or length limits, are imposed at a state level.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, in an interview Sunday morning, spoke out forcefully against violence, but also called the federal government’s response “unneccessary.” She called the administration’s actions “posturing” and “completely disruptive to a city that has already gone through so much.” She also condemned violence, saying people who engaged in it or vandalism should be “arrested and held accountable to the full extent of the law.” “The protest that happened last night in L.A. was relatively minor,” she added, and “to say that the city is out of control, I don’t know what city they are talking about.” Demonstrations...

Reds. Russets. Yukon Golds. Up until about a year or so ago, you could throw together a pretty decent breakfast after frying up a potato, some onions, and parsley for home fries. And you didn't have to do anything more to the potato than wash it and slice or chop it up. Not anymore. The spuds for sale at WalMart or Publix for five and six bucks a bag look like the real thing, but wait until you try to cook them. The problem is, they won't. Or don't. You can fry them all you want. Yet they'll stay raw...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – An immigration raid occurred in Tallahassee involving the Florida Highway Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, with over 100 people reportedly arrested at a construction site. Homeland Security Tampa confirmed the arrests Thursday evening and said some of those arrested were previously deported and others with criminal backgrounds. The department said the illegal aliens are from Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia and Honduras, “to name a few.”

TAMPA, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis is stepping up immigration efforts with the announcement that more than 100 Florida Highway Patrol troopers have been sworn in as Special Deputy U.S. Marshals. This means troopers can now serve federal warrants and help remove dangerous, criminal illegal aliens without waiting for the federal government to get directly involved in the operation.

For Tampa FL's residents who do NOT speak or read Spanish, Walmart's corporate overlords have just declared you to be an official minority. As of yesterday morning, Walmart's corporate (not sponsored) website comes up entirely in Spanish, with no obvious "Press 2 for English" option showing anywhere. Are they for real? A search online resulted in dozens of so-called "explanations" as to why this kind of thing might be happening to you on your computer. One explanation given was that a "business" might switch to Spanish as its default language in corporate communications if/when the demographic in a locality it...

The Pentagon has relieved the commander of a U.S. Space Force base in Greenland just two weeks after she hosted Vice President JD Vance for a visit. In an April 10 statement, Space Force Delta 1 announced Col. Susan Meyers was relieved of her command at the Pituffik Space Base in Greenland earlier that day. The statement indicates that Col. Kenneth Klock, who leads the Space Force Delta 1, ordered Meyers’s removal “for loss of confidence in her ability to lead.” “Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, especially as it relates to remaining nonpartisan in...

This just makes my blood really boil. I have family members who gave their lives for this country and this flag. I have not seen the flag of any other country defaced in public in just this way, only America's. Wearing it on your shoes? Who the hell are the makers of these products? And who the hell are these illegal SOB's who break into our country, steal our Social Security benefits, vote in our elections, drive with no insurance, crowd our hospitals and doctors offices and school rooms, criminalize our neighborhoods, with no consequences for their horrific behavior, and...

US Experience The US has seen two eras in e-bike injury—an early era with the majority of deaths in older patients who have the financial resources to purchase earlier generation and more expensive e-bikes but were less skilled riding a bicycle. During the pandemic, sales of all bikes increased, and the closure of gyms and social distancing led some to purchase e-bikes as a safe option for outdoor exercise. In the second era, e-bike prices fell significantly and became more affordable, leading to a dramatic increase in pediatric use and injury. [snip] For decades, MarinHealth Medical Center has been the...
