[Catholic Caucus] Announcing the National Latin Mass Pilgrimage- Arlington, VA to Washington, D.C.- October 5, 2024BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND- As a response to restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass announced in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia, local TLM attendees organized a pilgrimage between the main cathedral of the Diocese of Arlington (St. Thomas More) and the main cathedral of the Archdiocese of Washington (St. Matthew). This pilgrimage was wildly successful and has now become a yearly tradition. Our goal: full freedom, once again, for the Traditional Latin Mass, and an end to any and all restrictions. The pilgrimage itself is beautiful....

[Catholic Caucus] Guest Post: Spiritual Diocesan Malfeasance in the Diocese of Arlington? by Brian KoppThe SSPX Chapel in Linden at ChristmasEditor's note: All the information in the commentary below by Brian Kopp is first hand witnessed by Brian himself and the people involved and/or their parents. The situation in the Front Royal area is tragic. Rather than recognizing who the real enemy is, the local diocese and parishes have chosen to attack the SSPX and those who attend the chapel. It is hard to believe a priest would label a faithful believing and practicing Catholic as "not a Catholic." My...

[Catholic Caucus] Lucky Indeed to Suffer for the ChurchJoyfully Proclaiming the Word of Christ No Matter the Circumstances On March 25, 2023, the Feast of the Annunciation, a group of 100 Catholics embarked on a pilgrimage of penance, prayer, and thanksgiving between the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington, VA and the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C. – a two hour walk – as part of the Second Semi-Annual Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage. In the pouring rain, we sang Marian hymns, prayed the rosary, and proclaimed the truth of the Catholic faith. Very few causes could...

[Catholic Caucus] Arlington's Bishop Freely Chose to Limit TLM AccessOn September 30, 2022, Crisis Magazine published a very important article by James Baresel, "When Bishops Put Obedience Above Charity," concerning the true (Thomistic) and false (anti-Thomistic) notions of obedience and how they have played out in the dramatic situation in the Arlington, Virginia diocese. In particular, Baresel explains how true episcopal authority is exercised in charitably placing the spiritual needs of his flock above servile adherence to unnecessary laws or requirements, as indeed Canon Law itself provides for.Two excerpts:"Bishop Burbidge is not interested in determining the bare minimum Church law...

Priest Addresses Bishop Burbidge: “Not every papal act is guided by the Holy Spirit” Bishop Burbidge, referencing his spiritual fatherhood, offered a respectful challenge in his podcast of August 10th. While I am not one of his priests, his challenge is public, and many of the documents to which it refers are for the universal Church. I would like to take up the challenge. It regards the way a man receives an undesirable order from a superior. The case at hand refers to his own decree severely limiting the Latin Mass in his own diocese along with the directives of...

[Catholic Caucus] “Unity Über Alles”: Bishop Burbidge in His Own WordsOn July 29, 2022, Bishop Michael Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, Virginia, promulgated a “Policy for Implementation of Traditionis Custodes in the Diocese of Arlington.” Effective September 8, 2022, the Tridentine Mass can no longer be offered in parish churches in Arlington. (There is a two-year exception for three parishes, which may be extended, if they are making satisfactory progress toward implementing the new Mass.) In five other locations in the diocese, the Tridentine Mass may be offered in locations other than the parish church. The nearest location to me will...

[Catholic Caucus] The Ministry of Truth in the Diocese of Arlington The Arlington Catholic Herald, our diocesan newspaper, came yesterday. I generally check the priest's moves and the bishop's schedule and do a quick page-through to see if I want to read anything. It used to be a joke among some of my confreres, when Bishop Paul Loverde was our ordinary to count how many photos of him graced the pages of the paper. Bishop Burbidge can't compete. His only photo in this issues was the stamp-sized mini attached to his column. At any rate, one headline caught my eye...

Editor's Note: We received the Bishop Burbidge's press release and the following letter in our inbox simultaneously. We are reproducing both here in order to put a face to the Catholics who are being persecuted by the Woke Church of Francis and Co. MJMYour Excellency, Though I am certain you will never read or see this email I must express my sadness and anger regarding your cowardly decision to suppress the traditional Mass in your diocese. I have been a long term member of Holy Trinity parish in Gainesville, VA. Our 12:30 Mass attendance ranges from 500-700 people every Sunday....

[Catholic Caucus] Concerning a Certain Diocese and the Dangerous Latin Mass (A Letter from Screwtape) My dear Wormwood,I want to applaud you with regard to the work you have undertaken in one of the Enemy's foremost dioceses in the Americas. For far too long that detestable place has flourished virtually unchecked by us. But since the enthronement of our beloved Pachamama in Rome events have gone better than I expected! These humans never cease to amaze me with how easily corruptible they are.Now let us discuss this opportunity you have with the promulgation of the Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes...

A Brief History of Intolerance in Modern Cosmology by Dr. Jerry Bergman January 21, 2009 Abstract A review of some recent well-documented cases of intolerance in the cosmology field illustrates a common problem in science. Many relate to the Big Bang theory, such as the case of Geoffrey and Margaret Burbidge and Halton Arp. None of the accounts involved Intelligent Design advocates or creationists. This selection removes this compounding factor from the evaluation, but the cases have direct relevance to both Intelligent Design and creationism because both groups face the same resistance. It was concluded that it is critical for...
