Editor's Note: We received the Bishop Burbidge's press release and the following letter in our inbox simultaneously. We are reproducing both here in order to put a face to the Catholics who are being persecuted by the Woke Church of Francis and Co. MJM
Your Excellency,
Though I am certain you will never read or see this email I must express my sadness and anger regarding your cowardly decision to suppress the traditional Mass in your diocese. I have been a long term member of Holy Trinity parish in Gainesville, VA. Our 12:30 Mass attendance ranges from 500-700 people every Sunday. Now you have given us the privilege of attending the traditional Mass in an auditorium at a Montessori School.
Thank you for punishing faithful Catholics. You are a hireling, you are a coward and much more but decorum prevents me from writing anything further.
I am a father of 12 children (one of whom is a priest in a traditional religious order), a grandfather of 12 and counting. I am 100% pro-life, never contracepted, never voted for a pro-abortionist, believe in the Real Presence, pray many Rosaries daily, financially contribute to my parish (that will end now) and faithfully follow the precepts of Holy Mother Church. I don't deserve to be treated less than a second class citizen.
Your judgement will be awful and you will bring down God's holy wrath upon the Arlington Diocese. Shame on you, you weak and pathetic excuse for a successor of the apostles.
In all sincerity,
Seth F. Stein

You can’t say Latin mere. This is a Catholic Church.
And so goes the final days of what started out so well.
Can always go to Mass in Latino Spanish and pretend it’s Latin
I know you’re joking, but it’s a common misunderstanding that “Latin Mass” is just “normal Mass” said in Latin. Actually, “Latin Mass” is shorthand for the pre-Vatican II missal in fact there are massive differences in the prayers and rubrics.
Upon my reading of the letter and the Bishop's press release, I think that Stein should have waited awhile to think twice before posting his rather rude letter without some mods.
From his letter I got the impression that the traditional Latin Mass was kaput in the Diocese of Arlington.
But reading the Press release the traditional Latin Mass will continue in selected parishes in the Diocese. To me, that is an even handed, responsible reply to the challenge presented by the Pope to our diocese.
Like Pope Francis or not, he was selected by God Himself, for reasons we do not understand or appreciate. God's plan is not our plan.
Maybe we are experiencing the whirlwind predicted in the Third Letter of Fatima. Read Windswept House by Malachi Martin to get a sense of the context of what is going on in the Vatican, and the Fatima letter.
Perhaps you need to read the fine print and then reconsider if it's "even-handed":
Thank you for the link. I downloaded the document and glanced through it. Is there a section I need to focus on?
It looks like it is requiring more unnecessary red tape to get permission for the Traditional Latin Mass.
Just what are they trying to accomplish other than discouraging the practice of the Latin Mass?
I do not like them doing that. This fight to squash the traditional mass been going on since the 1960s.
A couple of points:
No priests ordained after July 16, 2021 even have the possibility of asking permission to offer the TLM.
No TLM’s during Holy Week or the Triduum.
Bullet Items 8 and Bullet Item 9 in Burbidges’ “Policy”.
Because nothing says even handed like allowing a few parishes to continue having the Tridentine Rite so long as they move them to an outbuilding and refrain from telling anyone when they’re actually occurring….
