Trooper Michael Pahira Jr. was killed Wednesday while conducting safety inspections on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County. Michael Bon, 33, is facing charges of homicide by vehicle and related offenses in connection with Pahira’s death. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Bon is in the U.S. illegally from Haiti and holds a commercial driver’s license from Massachusetts.
