Trooper Michael Pahira Jr. was killed Wednesday while conducting safety inspections on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County.
Michael Bon, 33, is facing charges of homicide by vehicle and related offenses in connection with Pahira’s death.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Bon is in the U.S. illegally from Haiti and holds a commercial driver’s license from Massachusetts.
The department said Bon was admitted into the U.S. as a parolee in 2024 and filed an application for temporary protected status, but it was never granted.
In 2025, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued Bon a notice of termination of parole, but he refused to leave the country, the department said.
Bon is now on an immigration hold, according to the department.

Things such as MRI's and CAT scans that can mean the deference between an in time diagnoses and untreated fatal diseases are being delayed to accommodate ILLEGAL ALIENS.
TAX paying American citizens are DYING hourly, daily, weekly because of this and the demoRATS, the woke left want you and I to pay more in taxes and get less in services back so they, the left can build an ILLEGAL ALIEN block for census numbers to gain seats in the house of representatives and in some cases to allow them to vote.
As I write this NGO's, demoRATs political pac's, foreign socialist millionaires like george soros are funneling money to antifa and other paid professional protesters and terrorists to attack law enforcement and agents of the federal government. It's time we hold these provocateurs accountable for their treasonous activities. It is not a simple employer/employee arrangement. Here is how it probably applies in this case.
1. Haitian dude rents a truck from a truck rental company.
2. Haitian dude gets an order from a third party broker to haul some stuff from point A to point B.
The term parolee doesn’t mean he was on parole from some criminal charge.
It merely means he was an immigrant who was released until the next appearance for an immigration hearing, I believe. You can be an immigration parolee without any kind of criminal conviction.
Well, I hope the Trioper’s family sues the merde out of the State of Massachusetts, the trucking company that Bob was driving for, and Bob, himself.
