Any Prayer Warriors around? Since being laid off last June DH has had a lot of job interviews but no offers, and finally took a job at a national chain building supply store, loading trucks. His usual line is IT, but this part of NY is bad for people out of work. Especially if you're over 35. ***ESPECIALLY*** if you're over 50. Anyway, second interview today with a good company and a job he's perfect for, they will call him 5-5:30 this afternoon to let him know the outcome. If God doesn't have a better thing lined up for him,...

A Millennial Mom’s Manifesto Dear Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, I’m writing to you to tell you that I respect you, and I disagree with you. I think you are confident, brave, fearless and beautiful. I love your dancing! Can I join in?! I admire your tenacity and bravado. We are both Millennials who love to wear red lipstick. And I think if I knew you, we might be friends. Here’s where you and I differ: I am a young mother with three sons who has lived a life where you have to rise to the top to succeed. I joined the largest...

VIDEO Joe Biden has a campaign aide whose main function seems to be to extract him from the press so that he only has time to respond to them with harmless platitudes. We also see the tragic results of what happens when Biden's Press Extraction Lady is absent from the scene.

HARRISBURG, PA—Pennsylvania's favorite pro-abortion legislator, Brian Sims, wanted to show he was tough. While most guys would join a local MMA club or luchador circuit, Sims isn't most guys. He had a much better idea. Sims wandered into a local Catholic church and challenged a group of singing nuns to a fistfight over the issue of abortion. "Hey nuns, come on down here and fight me if you want to show abortion is bad!" he called out, adding several slurs and expletives to his courageous speech. "Yeah, that's what I thought! Chicken, eh? Probably hateful Chick-fil-A chicken too, and not...

This short entry on Instapundit made me LOL. I’ve taken the liberty of reposting it in one of Glenn Reynolds’ own favorite formats - the shot/chaser.An espresso glass for those mornings when a shot just isn’t enough SHOT: Survey suggests shame around mental illness fading in U.S.CHASER: YEAH A LOT OF STUFF SUGGESTS THAT Ain’t that the truth. Or at least some people’s truth. If we can normalize the current fad of transgenderism what can’t we normalize? Naturally this ‘survey’ doesn’t distinguish between types of mental illnesses, so for the purpose of asking the question, anxiety is comparable to psychotic...

African safari hunter on having to choose just one bullet for continent's game: ‘It would most definitely be the Woodleigh Hydrostatically Stabilized Solid.’ The bull elephant was in musth – that was immediately clear – as his temporal glands were weeping down the side of his head. The night previous, he had destroyed the maize field that the village was counting on to survive the winter, rolling around HYDRO POWER like a drunken teenager and ruining their efforts. We got on him early, and we got in close – 16 long paces to be exact – as my professional hunter...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Strategery, Democrat style. – So, first you create a Constitutional crisis by taking a vote of the House Judiciary Committee to hold the Attorney General of the United States in contempt over an absurd claim that he “lied” to the Committee a month ago (he didn’t), and that he won’t release a full, unredacted version of the Mueller Report to congress so the Democrats can leak parts of it to their pals at the New York Times (he can’t do that without committing a felony himself). After you’ve done that, you send...

Ellen DeGeneres isn’t ready to throw her support behind a single Democratic presidential candidate to face off with Donald Trump, but she hints that she may be leaning toward one. DeGeneres told Variety that although she remains mostly apolitical on her talk show and in her standup, she’ll definitely be involved in the 2020 campaign. “I care deeply about our country and what’s happening to it,” she said Thursday at Raleigh Studios, where Netflix held an Emmy campaign event for her standup special “Relatable.” “And the world, the environment and everything that’s going on. I have my opinions. I try...

The timing is perfect. I wrote a few weeks ago recommending a Trump version of the Green New Deal. Except President Donald Trump’s Green New Deal would not be about green energy or global warming. It would be about the “green” that most Americans care about: money. Americans are overtaxed and can’t keep up with the heavy federal tax burden. In short, Mr. President, “the taxes are too damn high.” The little guy needs and deserves the same break you gave to American businesses. Now is the perfect time to make the announcement. Gallup, one of America’s most respected pollsters,...

Censorship was never supposed to happen in America, but the left is using big-tech to silence conservative voices. Massive corporations like Facebook and Twitter are working to keep their echo chambers full of liberal propaganda. It started with Alex Jones, from Infowars, when social media and tech giants coordinated efforts to de-platform his organization. It wasn’t a single instance of censorship by one corporation. Jones was systematically taken off every major social media service in a coordinated effort throughout Silicon Valley. Companies independent of each other were involved in taking his content down. Showing just how powerful big tech can...

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has suggested that if God supported a political party, it would not be the Republicans. Discussing the importance of his faith to his candidacy, Buttigieg told NBC News’ Today show on Tuesday: “It’s important that we stop seeing religion used as a kind of cudgel, as if God belonged to a political party. And if he did, I can’t imagine it would be the one that sent the current president into the White House.” Buttigieg has rapidly become one of the most prominent Democratic candidates despite his relatively low precandidacy profile. The openly gay, 37-year-old...

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh Wednesday said that those who oppose President Trump are set to destroy him and his family if he loses the 2020 presidential election. Limbaugh was asked a hypothetical question by a caller to "The Rush Limbaugh Show" about whether those who oppose Trump would have "still gone after him" if he had lost the 2016 election. The radio talk show host said Trump, his family and their businesses would be targeted if he loses the 2020 election and that those who oppose him have a tremendous amount of hate for the commander-in-chief.

So far, the conversation about the upcoming Boston Red Sox visit to Donald Trump’s White House has centered around the people of color who are skipping the event. The manager Alex Cora, a critic of the Trump administration’s inexcusable treatment of Puerto Rico amid the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017, cited his home island’s continuing troubles as his reason for opting out.

Every good citizen makes his country's honor his own, and cherishes it not only as precious but as sacred. He is willing to risk his life in its defense and is conscious that he gains protection while he gives it. Andrew Jackson I have pondered long and hard about the benefits of citizenship in today’s United States of America. Ultimately, I decided there was not a benefit, but a price – a cost – against which we citizens have bartered ours and our children’s lives, livelihoods, and freedom. The most basic “right” of citizens is to participate in the elections...

A Springfield, PA elementary school principal will stop saying “God Bless America” after leading students in the Pledge of Allegiance. Sabold Elementary School principal Peter Briggs would say the phrase each morning after students said the pledge. At least one parent complained to the Freedom for Religion Foundation, claiming the language violated the U.S. Constitution WLSAM reports: The district says it will end the practice, but says students are not prohibited from saying the words if they so choose. The foundation says elementary students shouldn’t be “coerced into affirming God’s name every morning.”

odayÂ’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Regular readers know I like to say that if Democrats did not exist, the most creative fiction writer alive today could never in a million years make them up. No one personifies this principle of American life more starkly than our own favorite Speaker of the Gibberish, er, of the House, San Fran Nan Pelosi. The latest example of our mush-mouthed Speaker talking slurring gibberish in public came Wednesday morning at some event hosted by the Democrat Party toadies at the Washington Post. Pelosi was doing her best to make...

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) established the Victims Of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office to acknowledge and serve the needs of crime victims and their families who have been affected by crimes committed by individuals with a nexus to immigration. This office was explicitly called for in the President’s Executive Order titled, “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States,” dated January 25, 2017. ***ICE may not be able to provide information regarding certain offenders to victims of a crime with a nexus to immigration due to the information being protected by policy or law. *** Mission...

Pennsylvania State Rep. Brian Sims (D-Philadelphia) took to social media on Tuesday to reveal that he takes Truvada. Truvada is a form of pre-exposure prophylaxis — or PrEP — taken to avoid contracting HIV, and is more than 99% effective at reducing transmission of the virus. The outspoken, openly gay Sims urged others to consider PrEP as a form of prevention, writing on Facebook: “Starting this day off smart, proactive, and in control! How about you? #PrEPsavesLIVES.”

President Donald Trump is well aware that the U.S. economy is just a few short weeks away from setting a record for the longest expansion ever, but he knows the business cycle has not been repealed and the next economic downturn is always lurking. ItÂ’s a vicious circle: low interest rates entice the politicians to amass more deficits and debt, and the politicians want more spending given ultra-low borrowing costs. Profligate monetary policy enables profligate fiscal policy. If one happens before 2020, Trump fears his reelection bid chances will be slim-to-none, says former Deputy Assistant to George H.W. Bush,...
