Asking for Prayers - Husband's Job Interview

Any Prayer Warriors around?

Since being laid off last June DH has had a lot of job interviews but no offers, and finally took a job at a national chain building supply store, loading trucks.

His usual line is IT, but this part of NY is bad for people out of work. Especially if you're over 35. ***ESPECIALLY*** if you're over 50.

Anyway, second interview today with a good company and a job he's perfect for, they will call him 5-5:30 this afternoon to let him know the outcome.

If God doesn't have a better thing lined up for him, please pray for a successful outcome of this interview. Hubs is a long time poster here but not tagged because I think he'd be embarrassed.

Good luck to you both. It sounds like positive developments. In my experience, when searching for a job or doing the hiring, it’s rare to be called back for a 2nd interview and not receive an offer.

Absent him doing something really bad during the interview, they’re obviously interested in him.

I am keeping him in my thoughts. Was in a similar situation 7 years back, and thankfully stumbled into an excellent IT job in my local County government, but I am certain there are lots of opportunities out there awaiting a lucky discovery!

Same here going on seven years.

Somehow I got a the best paying job in my life that came out of a short term contract gig.

Prayers up. I'm 55 and spent the last twenty years in IT, but us old geezers are only picked up for scut work anymore - a lot of companies don't want to pay for the experience, and figure younger, cheaper guys will stick around longer. I'm assuming your husband must be around my age, so I hope he gets that call. Lord knows we all need His help every so often. Just believe, and let come what may.

Me? I lost my job last fall, and with my health, I just got a disability lawyer and am going through the slow grind with the SSA for permanent benefits. I'm done. I got handicap placards in the car windows, the works. One of the folks at the lawyer's office looked at my medical records and said, "This is all you? You ought to be dead." LOL
