Look at the schools as to why the left does what it does. They fight against nature and just how life is. Life is not "fair". People are not equal in talents and treasure and outcomes. So here in schools they take away programs that help students to be too much smarter than those that decide not to participate in those programs and remain underachievers. The left thinks if someone does better it automatically means it's at the expense of someone else. Further if too many people do too well and think too much they might figure out what the...

The answer to the President's question is "Hell no, it isn't the end!" Our opponents want to close the book on the Obama White House and everything it represents -- all that we've built together and all the progress we'll continue to make together. We can't let that happen. Donate $5 or more now: https://donate.barackobama.com/73-Days Thanks, Messina -----------------Original Message----------------- From: Barack Obama Subject: The end? Friend -- It's August 23rd. And 75 days from now, I'll either be looking at another four years in the White House -- or the end of this opportunity. I know what's at stake for...

National Geographic Explorer’s Hall in Washington D.C. has hosted some of the most prestigious exhibits in America. Previous exhibits have included the Chinese terracotta warriors, as well as the James Caird, the lifeboat Sir Ernest Shackleton miraculously sailed from Antarctica to South Georgia Island in 1916. Currently it is hosting a curious exhibit through February 2013 entitled “1001 Inventions: Discover the Golden Age of Muslim Civilization.” This high tech, slickly produced exhibit explicitly seeks to debunk the “myth” that the dark ages were dark. The exhibit purports to provide examples of innovations from Muslim civilization, and some of the...

This year the Department of Homeland Security has purchased a reported 750 million rounds of hollow-point bullets. To help put this in perspective, US troops fighting in Iraq used about 70 million rounds/year. In an effort to quell apprehensions as to the intent of her agency, Secretary Janet Napolitano emphasized that “it is important that the government not be out-gunned by its enemies. We must have the firepower to suppress anyone who may rise against us.” Napolitano also cited the lack of skill of the forces under her command compared to potential enemies. “The extra rounds are needed to offset...

Neil Young – singer, songwriter, and guitarist – solo artist – member of Buffalo Springfield – member of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young – is very much alive. However, NBC news has reported that he has died! Not only that, but they also reported that he was the first astronaut to walk on the moon! Here are some of my favorite Neil Young songs: “Mr. Soul” (as a member of Buffalo Springfield) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1LwaXNi7n8&feature=player_embedded“Cinnamon Girl” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XWHF27R0AA&feature=player_embedded“Down By the River”" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PB5bGDPJakE&feature=player_embedded“Cowgirl in the Sand”" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zphUt_tp898&feature=player_embedded“Till the Morning Comes” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_yO0a1-XWw&feature=player_embedded“Come on Baby Let’s Go Downtown” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaclLeX9yaA&feature=player_embedded“World On a String” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSEFj_NRn8c&feature=player_embedded

I decided to do some local sporting goods shopping this afternoon before I headed to the gun club. I went to Bass Pro to look for a sling and rifle case for the AR-15A3 that I built Saturday evening. I found the rifle case that I wanted, but no luck finding a sling. As I checked out at Bass Pro, the cashier asked me for my phone number. I firmly said, "No thank you." The cashier typed in a bogus phone number and then asked if wanted to give $2.00 to some charity. Again, a firm, "No thank you." Lastly...

I just watched the Ron Paul Rally in Tampa, Florida on C-SPAN and I agree with much of what he says. When Mitt Romney is elected President this November, I sincerely hope he appoints Rep. Ron Paul to a cabinet position. I’d favor Rep. Paul for the Department of Energy or Education. Perhaps head of the Bureau of Land Management. For now the Departments of Treasury, Justice or Defense is too scary for me to even think about. Let Rep. Ron Paul show America what he can do with cutting waste in a single department or bureau. If America likes...

Neil Armstrong went to be with the Lord yesterday. He was a great American. He was a devoted Christ follower. Of course, you wouldn’t know about Armstrong’s Christian faith from the obituaries published by such bastions of liberal journalism as the New York Times and Washington Post. They didn’t consider it worthy of comment. Nor would you know that Armstrong loved the Lord from the perfunctory tribute offered by President Obama, who mentions Christianity only when it serves his political purposes (like defending his support for homosexual marriage). But Armstrong’s life story cannot be told without mentioning his walk with...

In Dublin, Ireland, stands an estate reminiscent of old folklore, complete with its own dragon! Of course, dragons are mythical creatures, so this home only has a dragon made of steel which acts as its gatekeeper. The property, known at Harlech House, was originally built in 1798 by a Welsh immigrant. (The estate is actually named after a town in Wales called Harlech and the national flag has a dragon on it.) Harlech House sits on less than an acre of land but is full of enchantment. It features religious iconography and fairy-tale motifs throughout the seven-bedroom home, but it's...

In a date-redacted document, DHS claimed "Unusual and Compelling Urgency" NOT to inform the public of quantities of ammo purchased with tax money ($4.6 MILLION) for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Federal Protective Service (FPS). The original bid date was May 2012. On July 30, 2012 the award was announced for a contract, and for an undisclosed quantity of 223 62 grain duty and 223 64 grain duty. Federal Cartridge Company in Minnesota won the bid assuming any other company was allowed to bid against them. The purchased ammo is to be used...

If it weren’t so tragic and there weren’t so much at stake, the tiptoe strategy of the Romney Tepid Team would actually be funny to watch. Here you have a group of archetypal RINOs who were clever and tough enough to figure out how to destroy the relatively weak Republican primary field while Romney patiently waited his turn — next in line behind John McMush — to be anointed by the Republican establishment. Since the Republican debates ended, however, Romney has been so weak-kneed that he’s barely been able to keep pace with a president whom everyone but the most...

Embattled GOP senatorial candidate Todd Akin received some words of encouragement from his opponent, sitting Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo). “I know a lot of people have been urging him to bow out,” McCaskill observed. “But really, why should he? Look, he’s obviously confused about biology. As the President said, he must have missed science class. But there are worse things to be confused about.” “A worse thing to be confused about is ethics,” McCaskill went on. “President Obama, for example, opposes giving aid to aborted babies that survive the procedure. I mean, once the child is outside the mother how...

In The Hill, Bernie Quigley writes that the future of the conservative movement is essentially the Tea Party movement, and Sarah Palin is the movement’s natural leader. “If Obama wins this year, Palin will lead (against Christie/Bush) in the Republican primary in 2016,” Quigley writes. “If Romney wins and yields to the tradition (which he will because his life is stuck in 1972) Palin will bring a challenge.”Quigley’s observation here is of note, and may be more important if Romney wins the presidency. If Romney wins the presidency, conservatives would be fearful that Romney will morph back into the moderate-to-liberal...

It’s time to take on the false charge of a Republican “War on Women” and defeat it. Here are some outlines for a few television ads we should run. #1 Visual is Bill Clinton in the witness chair being asked questions about Monica Lewinsky. There is no sound. A female voice says, “Former President Bill Clinton will address the Democratic National Convention – really? Do these people remember Kathleen Wiley?” Headline appears “Accused Clinton of forcibly groping her in the Oval Office” Voice over, “Do they remember Juanita Broddrick?” Headline changes to “Accused Clinton of raping her.” Voice over, “Do...

Advice and help would be appreciated to get rid of a little nagging problem I've had with Free Republic. For some reason, whenever I initially open the Free Republic website, I get the list of articles posted on Aug. 21, 2012. The right-hand column of articles is up to date, however. I've hit refresh and looked through my settings, and everything seems fine there - although I know that there could be dozens, maybe hundreds of settings I'm unaware of. In any case, I'm exceptionally tired of seeing those same articles about the senatorial candidate from Missouri filling my screen...

On Saturday, Doug posted the following Politico article concerning a conference call between Todd Akin backer, Mike Huckabee, hundreds of Southern Baptist pastors, and Christian talk show hosts: Mike Huckabee rallied hundreds of Southern Baptists on a conference call Friday night in support of Todd Akin, offering advice about how they can help the embattled Missouri Senate candidate stay in the race — while acknowledging Akin still may have to bow out. “This could be a Mt. Carmel moment,” said the former Arkansas governor, referring to the holy battle between Elijah and the prophets of Baal in the book of...

This post requires an understanding of r/K Selection Theory in Evolutionary Biology, and it's relation to our political ideologies. For a quick rundown of this, please see our main page here. In a previous post we posited that homosexuality may be an extreme form of the reversal in sex specific behaviors which is seen in r-selected populations, where females become more “masculine,” so as to better protect and provision the young they raise alone, while males become more effete, so as to avoid the conflict which is dangerous and disadvantageous under conditions of r-selection. In that post, we examined the...

As is often the case, last week was so busy I didn’t have time to cover all the important news so today I’ll try to catch up. I’ll start with the touchiest one: Todd Akin. While even his own party condemned his stupid comments and called for him to withdraw from the Senate race, a couple of awards for most creative criticism are in order. First runner up is Barbara Boxer for her creative appellation of “first wives and mommy-haters” to all pro-choice anti-women Republicans. Butt first prize is awarded to none other than MoDo, the NYT’s resident hysterical feminist...

With the passing of Neil Armstrong, arguably one of the most celebrated of all the Astronauts, and with a name nearly everyone recognises, we are all of us saddened at the passing of a gentle and unassuming man, who always said that he was just doing his job. In 1971, one of the most well known Australian Country singers, Reg Lindsay, released a song dedicated to Neil Armstrong. The song, written by John Stewart from The Kingston Trio, was a huge hit here in Australia, crossing over into the mainstream Popular Music Charts and making it into the Top Ten,...

Would anyone disagree with me that there is a vacuum in the political media coverage we are now seeing? A vacuum that draws in nearly every story the media covers? There seems to be one, all-important race that the media is centered on, ie. the contest to see who will be the GOP nominee, the person who will face Barack Obama in the general election. Most certainly, that race is very important and one we all should consider our options carefully. However, the presidential election is not the only horse race in town. There is another race, although it may...
