"Frankly, I can be wrong, but I do not think that America can carry to the presidency a candidate as on the left as Barack Obama." Norman Podhoretz, May 14, 2008 Check the link for the complete interview on Iraq, Iran, the WoT, neoconservatism and US presidential elections.

President Bush should denounce "dickless wonders who crap themselves in the face of any opposition and both look and smell like a baboon's butt" and see if any Democrats get angry saying Bush was talking about them.

If you think that the political season has been weird so far, well, hold onto your hats. Sources very close to the top levels of the Clinton campaign ( actually, Bill was at the opening of the new Hooters in White Plains the other day) have let slip that sometime after the Kentucky primary, Hillary will hold a fireside chat with the country, at which time she will announce that she is abandoning her quest for the Democrat nomination, and instead will offer herself to the GOP as the only possible candidate who can beat Obama this november.

The first part of the show was all gangster-hippie chic with models wearing holsters and guns, and stepping out in sleek tuxedoed, slouchy blouse-and-pant combinations [...] As an inspiration Lagerfeld cited Brian Jones, the drug-addled Rolling Stone who was found dead at the bottom of his pool in 1969. The show ended with synchronized swimmers from the U.S. Olympic team jumping into the water, culminating in the lineup forming the house’s logo.

President Bush made a moving speech in Israel to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of that state. The New York Sun began its editorial "Bush's Covenant" this way: As far as political reactions go, it was a weird one. President Bush gave a beautiful and moving speech in the capital of Israel to give voice to America’s solidarity with the Jewish state. He reached back to Herzl and beyond, declaring that the establishment of the State of Israel was, as the president put it, “the redemption of an ancient promise given to Abraham and Moses and David —...

Barack Obama tries to lay blame on the Fox News Channel for his woes in the upcoming Kentucky Primary. It seems that every time he has a new tarbaby such as his upcoming loss in Kentucky Obama finds a new whipping boy. This time the dreaded Fox News is to blame for his problems.

Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama made his most substantive comments on foreign policy with respect to the Middle East in an interview with the New York Times yesterday. Here’s an excerpt: “The debate we’re going to be having with John McCain is how do we understand the blend of military action to diplomatic action that we are going to undertake,†he said. “I constantly reject this notion that any hint of strategies involving diplomacy are somehow soft or indicate surrender or means that you are not going to crack down on terrorism. Those are the terms of debate that...

I've long speculated that one of the reasons that Hillary Clinton is still in the race is because she wants to be running should another bombshell like the Rev. Wright scandal hit the Obama campaign. According to Hillary Clinton supporter Larry Johnson, there is another bomb out there, but it won't see the light of day until Obama is nominated: I now have it from two three sources close to senior Republicans that they have video dynamite–Michelle Obama railing against “whitey” at Jeremiah Wright’s church. Republicans may have a lousy record when it comes to the economy and the management...

Robert Harry to AZRKBA show details 9:33 AM (9 hours ago) Reply I spent the last three weeks on a Central American cruise and fell in with a group of Canadians in the smoking lounge. They have an interesting debate about guns up there. The man who seemed most interesting was an Inspector with Violent Crimes RCMP. Not all we are told about violent crime in Canada is true. The Inspector told me that while Canada as a whole has less guns deaths than the United States and less violent deaths than us the official numbers are less than honest....

Well, apparently the will of the people doesn't mean much in California, at least not in the eyes of liberal activist judges. The California State Supreme Court today overturned California laws that define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. One of those laws was a law passed by 61% of California voters in 2000 as a ballot proposition. What's particularly galling is that the decision was a 4-3 decision by the judges, so essentially one person's vote in the court was enough to overrule the will of 61% of the California electorate. Effectively the California court...

A recent incident in which a 61-year old woman was initially denied life-saving surgery, then granted it after a media hubbub, was characterized as a “prudent cost-containment procedure” by the National Health Service. “As a general proposition, a 61-year old doesn’t have much social value,” NHS spokesman Winston Hardman explained. “Naturally, the first step in our cost-containment procedure is to deny service -- even if that means the individual will die as a result. If there is a public uproar sufficient to persuade us that the scrutiny being given to a particular case warrants a revised decision, well, we will...

Whether you hate them or not, this video of a new product tasting at Anheuser-Busch was an interesting experience. I came back from Saint Louis with an interesting video of a private tasting of Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser American Ale. Before I get to the video, a couple of observations. It’s been a while since I can recall an extension of the Budweiser name, but just as A-B is positioning flagship brand Budweiser as The Great American Lager, their October-release Budweiser American Ale also waves the flag. You can read into this whatever you please, but with well over 125 years of...

Israelinsider.com reviews a quote from Jeffrey Goldberg's interview with Barry H. Obama. This interview was spun earlier in the week as an example of how Obama is really a good friend of Israel and in this way is no different than his competitors for the Presidency. Taken out of context, some of the quotes aren't bad. Taken in context, that is, with respect to Obama's associations, one can begin to see a picture of someone not fully prepared to be Commander in Chief. Sure, most of the words are pleasing, albeit reflective of leftist and conventional wisdom dogma, but is...

Too much spending: The bill increases spending by almost $20 billion over the next ten years, at a time when net farm income is at an all-time high. Much of this additional spending is disguised by budget gimmicks that take advantage of formal scoring rules to hide real spending increases. New sugar program: The bill would make the government buy sugar for 2X the world price, store it, then resell it at about an 80% loss to the taxpayer. Sugar sells for about 11¢/lb on the world market. The US government would have to buy sugar for about 22¢/lb, store...

By The HeelSpecial To The Stiletto BlogAfter the Rev. Al Sharpton’s massive protest last week that shut down several major roadways in New York City during the evening rush hour, NY Gov. David Patterson said: “They felt that they had no other choice but to take the action that they took, and I respect the decision that they made to take that action.”Patterson should not be so understanding, considering that protests of this type appear to fall within the definition of domestic terrorism given at 18 USC §2331: (5) the term "domestic terrorism" means activities that – (A) involve acts...
