DETROIT (AP) - Kwame Kilpatrick, a one-time rising star in American urban politics who embraced his "Hip-Hop Mayor" image as Detroit's youngest elected leader, was charged Monday with perjury and other counts after sexually explicit text messages surfaced that appear to contradict his sworn denials of an affair with a top aide.

On Monday, March 24 at 11am, Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy will announce her decision about whether to bring charges against Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and/or any of his staff in the text messaging scandal.

Last week, I had the chance to sit down with Jeff Beatty, a Republican U.S. Senate candidate for the state of Massachusetts. Beatty is currently rallying support in order to offer a strong challenge to the current seat holder, Senator John Kerry. Jeff, who was in town to receive the prestigious "Guardian Award" from the International Association of Counter-terrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP), left me confident that we are putting our best foot forward in November's race and that Kerry will be facing a worthy opponent. Jeff's unique background as a counterterror professional and businessman positions him well to unseat...

Nomination papers to run for the U.S. Senate are not available until February, but by then Jeff Beatty will probably have seen more of the state than most of John Kerry's potential challengers. Beatty has already developed a cartographer's knowledge of what roads lead to places like Uxbridge and Winchendon, Longmeadow and Palmer. Although he's not officially a candidate, the fact Beatty is rolling around the state in a van with a larger-than-life portrait of himself airbrushed against a backdrop of stars and stripes is a big clue. So are the endorsements from the Worcester County Republicans Club, the Shirley...

Jeffrey K. Beatty, former Army Delta Force officer and CIA/FBI agent, told area Republicans this week that he not only is the best bet to unseat U.S. Sen. John Kerry next year, but that he will soon disclose a plan he says could have the United States out of Iraq "within two years with a win for the U.S." At the same time, the 55-year-old Harwich resident and security expert lamented that Bay State Republicans "have forgotten how to win" elections, and need to volunteer, contribute and vote to reverse their fortunes. Mr. Beatty, who now heads his own security...

Jeff Beatty of Harwich, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, says that illegal immigrants should not receive benefits and that U.S. troops should remain in Iraq until a "favorable outcome" is reached. He spoke to the Republican Town Committee on Thursday night. Beatty is the founder of TotalSecurity.US, a consulting firm specializing in homeland security and anti-terrorism training. He is running for the seat held by Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., a 2004 presidential candidate. "I've been dissatisfied with our current representation, but what really converted me from being simply dissatisfied to where I felt the need to try...

Just 60 days after forming an exploratory committee to defeat John Kerry for the US Senate in 2008, Jeff Beatty is receiving favorable support from voters across Massachusetts. A July poll conducted by the renowned Zogby organization shows Jeff Beatty to be in a virtual tie with the junior senator and former presidential candidate. Zogby provided respondents with basic biographical information on John Kerry, Jeff Beatty and other Republican candidates and then asked “who would you vote for?” Results in the head-to-head competition were: First; Kerry 48 % Beatty 45% (3 point margin – error margin 4.1% = a tie)...

'Philanthropy' Under The Radar The words "Human Rights" always catch my attention, since along with words like "diversity" and "advocate" they signal the Left at work within the Media. The Media Class specializes in the purloining of words for propaganda purposes and surely "gay" is the classic example. One is reminded of the real estate world in which the words used have a kind of irony about them. For example, in a new development the streets may have names like "Orchard Close", "The Meadows" and "Foxhill" and you know that orchards, meadows and foxes have been eliminated in the...

An Active Freeper, who shall remain anonymous for his and his family's safety, has worked hard in exposing the fraud and lies of a Massachusetts Democrat who has strong ties to Hugo Chavez and a 100% support rating from CAIR and La Raza. See article below!

Among the issues which need to be presented in this election period, is the outright anti-American actions and possible scandals connected to this long term Congressman from Massachusetts, Mr. Delahunt. It is well known that the nation of Venezuela has become a political enemy of the United States. During the last winter, Rep Delahunt openly bartered with the leader of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez to have oil shipped directly to the people of Massachusetts at a cheaper rate than oil normally sold on the market. Below is an article which outlines the details of Congressman Delahunt’s actions in this oil deal:

It’s funny how celebrities who run for political office frequently elect to have an “R” as opposed to a “D” next to their name; i.e., Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson and Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others. Maybe it’s because celebrity conservatives aren’t in the habit of making lame excuses. Actor, activist and much ballyhooed potential political candidate Warren Beatty is offering an explanation as to why he’s been a loud talker, but not much of a walker, when it comes to running for office. Beatty is quoted in Amy Wilentz’s book, “I Feel Earthquakes More Often Than They Happen,” as...

Statement by Jeff Beatty on defeating aviation terrorist attacks: Criticizes Rep. Delahunt for obstruction to airport security HARWICH - Jeff Beatty, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress issued the following statement on defeating aviation terrorist attacks. "Congratulations to the Law Enforcement, Intelligence and Security Services of Great Britain, and the United States. Today's foiling of a large-scale terror plot that had the potential to kill as many as 2,000 passengers on up to 10 aircraft over the Atlantic is a tremendous achievement! “Today, we are reminded that we were attacked before and those who would attack us will not go away-they...

Actor-activist Warren Beatty had a warning for California Democrats on Friday — don't forget the real fight for the governor's office is in November against Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fearing a nasty Democratic primary could leave the party's nominee weakened and vulnerable, Beatty called on candidates Steve Westly and Phil Angelides to avoid a negative campaign that could fragment, rather than unite, the party. "I want us to win," Beatty said at a fundraiser for the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights, an advocacy group. Echoing a line made famous by President Reagan, he said the party should follow the GOP's lead...

SACRAMENTO - Director Rob Reiner and actor Warren Beatty already are well-known to California voters if either decides to run for governor next year. Their problem: they're not particularly well-liked. A Field Poll released Tuesday rates the name recognition and images of announced and possible candidates for seven statewide offices next year. Reiner and Beatty made the list as potential Democratic nominees to challenge Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's re-election bid. While neither has said he intends to run, their opposition to Schwarzenegger during the just-concluded special election generated buzz among Democratic activists. About two-thirds of the registered voters surveyed said they...

Beatty claims credit for poll pounding of 'the Governator' By Catherine Elsworth in Los Angeles (Filed: 13/11/2005) Warren Beatty, the veteran Hollywood actor who helped to deliver the first big blow to Arnold Schwarzenegger's political career, said last night that the Terminator star had got his come-uppance for fooling voters. Four days after California voters rejected a series of reforms put forward by the Republican governor, Beatty boasted that his own high-profile eve-of-poll campaigning had helped to save America from the ripple effect of Mr Schwarzenegger's "reactionary measures". Warren Beatty: 'Actors do not necessarily make good politicians' The 68-year-old, a...

This column, and the world, have been very serious lately. Let's take a not-too-solemn look at postelection players. Warren Beatty has been all over the news as the leader of the anti-Schwarzenegger forces in California. He has emerged, and good for him. He's been making heavily covered speeches and shadowing GOP rallies along with his wife, Annette Bening, a truly great actress. But Wednesday Beatty told reporters, "I don't want to run for governor." Which left me scratching my head. This is politics, not showbiz. It has nothing to do with what you want.

I was at the rally yesterday in Anaheim. Mr. Beatty is wrong. I did not need a red wrist band to enter. It was a wonderfully organized event. Arnold looked great. His bus drove right into the warhouse, he stepped onto the stage and off he went. He talked about the propositions and the need to make huge changes in Sacramento. He said we've poured billions of dollars into the state educational system... so where are the billion dollar results? The crowd was full of about 400 beautiful, friendly, civilized people of all ages. The young people were well groomed...
