Its funny how celebrities who run for political office frequently elect to have an R as opposed to a D next to their name; i.e., Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson and Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others.
Maybe its because celebrity conservatives arent in the habit of making lame excuses.
Actor, activist and much ballyhooed potential political candidate Warren Beatty is offering an explanation as to why hes been a loud talker, but not much of a walker, when it comes to running for office.
Beatty is quoted in Amy Wilentzs book, I Feel Earthquakes More Often Than They Happen, as saying, People hate celebrities . . . There has been a demonization of celebrities on the part of the far right.
According to Beatty, the far Right is quite potent even when it comes to a certain hallowed New Jerseyite.
Look, Beatty said, Bruce Springsteen went out for [John] Kerry in Ohio, and they even made him look bad - and Springsteen is a saint.

With these liberals it's always someone else's fault. Childishness or delusions of grandeur, who can say? But, lordy, what a choice.

Look, Beatty said, Bruce Springsteen went out for [John] Kerry in Ohio, and they even made him look bad - and Springsteen is a saint. No "they" didn't make him look bad. Most fans of popular music just want musicians to shut up and play/sing, not lecture ignorantly about about politics. Oh and btw Warren, most fans of film want actors to just shut up and act.

My guess is that Warren hired some good political consultant, who quizzed Warren for about ten minutes, and then told him, "I hope that you're at least smart enough to know you're not prepared, and will just embarrass yourself." That's probably when Warren decided he couldn't run because "the Republicans were out to get him."

If Warren is really pro-life, and stands strong and gets vocal, he'd get a lot of votes...
