LONGVILLE — A Longville woman was mauled to death in bed by her two pit bulls on Sunday. According to Beauregard sheriff's officials, Kelli Chapman, 24, may have been sleeping when the mauling occurred sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Deputies were dispatched to 586 Martin-Baggett Road after the woman's husband, Jason Chapman, called 911 at around 7 p.m. BPSO spokesman Robert L. GAINESVILLE - A teenager who needed 900 stitches after her family's pit bull attacked her is recovering at home. Amanda Boyles, 19, of Interlachen, suffered facial lacerations and a damaged artery that required surgery after the dog lunged at her face while they were playing Thursday. Deputies said the woman's father, Felton Boyles, pried the dog off his daughter at it shook her head back and forth in its grip.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Neighborhood dogs attacked goats used by the city to graze on fast-growing kudzu, killing two and critically injuring another, officials said. "Two goats were killed, and we took one to a vet," said Teresa Grainger, director of the city's animal services. "We impounded three dogs and found the owners through a license tag." It has to be one of the dumbest laws, ever. And I don't even own or like pit bulls. It's nothing personal, only that I'd never keep any animal that eats as much or more than I do.
