Federal prosecutors announced Thursday they have indicted Pete Seda, the head of the Ashland branch of the Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation, on fraud and tax charges. Seda, also known as Pirouz Sedaghaty and Abu Yunus, and another officer of the foundation, Soliman Hamd Al-Buthe, are part of a three-count indictment for illegally transporting $150,000 to Saudi Arabia. MADISON—The state Department of Natural Resources is looking for public feedback on efforts to re-establish elk in Wisconsin. The DNR estimates about 180 elk currently roam Ashland County. The animals descended from 25 elk captured in Michigan and released in the Clam Lake area in 1995. ASHLAND (CBS) – Rezwan Ferdaus had run into some minor trouble in the past, but neighbors in his quiet Ashland neighborhood are terrified to hear the disturbing accusations he’s currently facing. The 26-year-old Ferdaus was arrested on Wednesday and charged with plotting to crash explosive-laden remote control planes into the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol. Ashland, Oregon Rally ReportWe had a great rally in Ashland, Oregon this past Saturday, with around 60 people showing up to support us. Not as many people as have been showing up in Medford, which is only 10 miles away but worlds apart culturally.
